I was wondering where to find information with the vin? What will it tell me? I googled my VIN and nothing came up. Checked a couple Vin websites but I think they are for automotive only. Thanks

You cant. . I tried a few years ago to find a website to look mine up with no sucess. I had to take it to CHP to have it ran to make sure it wasn't stolen.

Maybe we should start our own VIN collection here. Or would that be a bad thing to be posted publicly?

My pilot has the last 6 numbers of the vin as 000109. does this mean it should be the 109th pilot off the assembly line?

I was just breaking mine down and I can decode it to the last 6 digits. Its the sequential production number but if this was the case they would have had to make almost 103,000 fl350's for my number to make sense. Could they have made that many?

From better examining that picture It appears the 2 wasn't actually part of the production numbers as the example is 200001. I'd guess the example would be number 1. so I'm thinking that I've got FL350 number 29xx off the assembly line? Maybe? If that would be so that's a way at finding out about how many have been built or at least give us a ballpark. I've seen the question before and can't dig up an answer on how many were produced so let's see if we can make some sense of it. Who has the highest number on the forum?? Ballpark is best as I'm not sure if anything negative could be done with our VIN numbers. So if I've got 29xx who on here has the highest number??? ::-:

If we're talking about the last 4 numbers, I have 12XX and 70XX.

Thanks Rand. I meant the last 4 or potentially the last 5 if it goes over 10,000. I'll get up early in the morning and see if I can get my other 350 uncovered in the dark and see what it says. Those numbers seem to be make sense with the idea of how many may have been built. Hopefully we can find a pattern in it and get a idea. Anyone's input would be greatly appreciated.

Many honda VIN numbers start at 100000 or 200000 that doesn't mean they make a 100,000 just how the VIN started not many start at 0000001 ....i can post what numbers they started at if that's any good???...for oddy and pilot the last 4 numbers is the production number....

The last 4 or 5 are the production numbers. 9451 is my latest frame and highest I've seen yet. Who's got higher numbers??? Not sure on a total.

Damn! Maybe I should have kept that bad boy. You could have the last on off the production line! :-)

Lol I doubt it. Glad to see the number getting so high. I wanna keep this thread going. Seems to be the only way to get an idea of production numbers. This weekend it will be ready for the Engine and then just misc. Small stuff. Gotta stay with stock front shocks and some showa backs the previous owner had on it. Still beats the shit out of me but they'll work for now. Works shocks all the way around is next to save up for as soon as it's mechanically sound.
