Which side of the coil is the "negative side" ? I am installing tach and need to connect wire to this side, but the schematic in the manual to me does not show it. Would the green which is ground be this?

On the Trail Tech Vapor I've got, I have one wire wrapped around the coil lead, and one to ground. Works like a charm.

Which wire was it please? Black/yellow? and did you need to wrap that on the negative side as I do? Picture is really great if you got it!

Ok forgive me here. I am confused. The tach has 2 plugs. 1 plug has 3 wires-red/black/white. Red is power(switched power off ignition not constant),black ground and white is for the light. The 2nd plug is the green wire which instructions state to install on the negative side of the coil, how would the Honda OEM green wire which is ground conduct pulses for the tach to register? But green gound would be termed negative correct?
I know it seems to be really simple I just do not want to smoke the tach. I am assuming the green wire from tach must be connected to the black/yellow pulse wire. Your thoughts please.

Link to instructions for the tach:

I am using the option 2 on the tach installation. Green wire to coil, not the inductive wire which IMO is a piece of shit.

I think you are correct and need to go to the black and yellow wire.

Yes negative is ground.

On a car ignition coil the negative is what receives the pulse from the pick up, on the pilot the pulse will come from the black and yellow wire.

If you look at the diagram you posted, on a car power is supplied all the time and ground pulse is added from the pickup to complete the circuit.

The pilot is opposite, ground is supplied always and power pulse added to complete the circuit.

I hope this helps.
