Oddybuggy: that's cools come on by and check it out. For the kind of riding we do in our group my son will need the all the suspension I can give him to keep up with my pilot.

Speed: I'm going to have the jug welded up before I port it and have it bored. I actuallt have to cylinders I need to have done a 81mm weisco and a stock 78.5. The 78.5 will be going on the shelve with a 79mm piston kit for later and the 81 will be bored to a 81.5 and then ported. I need it to keep up with my pilot, well it will eat my pilot for lunch when I'm done with actually so my son wont fall too far behind.

I got the wire harness and the steering stem in today along with the wiring for the fan and electic water pump. I'm not sold on the banshee rad yet. Its just bulky looking and the hose fittings need to be reworked so the rad lines don't get kinked. Its all the little things that are taking sooooo long. Like cleaning and inspecting every nut and bolt and finding things are broke or too worn to reuse so then waiting for the new parts to come in or figure out a way to repair and refurbish.

Great Work!!! Lots of labor involved in that and looks professional.

My 420CC 350 "Leckich" jug used a stock cylinder that was boxed for water cooling with a new designed water head, then resleeved to big bore , then ported. I took lots of pictures that my give you some help or ideas. Just do a search for 418, 420, 418CC, 420CC, etc and I am sure you will find some info.

Your sons 350 might be faster than your Pilot soon, maybe not through rough or jumps, but climbing or straights! Naw, you can't let that happen, LOL

I'll be keeping a 420 mod for the future. This project will have a copy of a leckich race port job from a past fl350 I had. I want it to be able to be faster then my pilot so I wont hear any excuses as to why he cant keep up. ya know.

Hey Hoser, My 420 Leckich cylinder is well into its last bore and will need a new sleeve. When I have it done, I can send it to you for the first piston bore, champ fer and hone so you can give it a good looking over, if you would like?

Its kind of stalled. I'm wating for parts to arrive, piston kit, carb, steering column covers, master cylinder rebuild kit, starter rebuild kit. I'm also trying to find a great upholstery shop to redo the stock seat and a fab shop to weld up my water jackets for my cylinder. As of lately I got new head lights installed and the rear upper airbox modded for the radiator and installed. Radiator and fan installed with all the wiring for it as well. I got my shocks and other parts in for the LT kit for my pilot so I've also been working on that. Thanks for the intrest I'll post all updates and pics asap.

I decided to buy my air shocks for my pilot this week because I tried to order all new fenders for the fl350 but the rears are discontinued. So now I have to find near perfect used rears before I buy the new fronts. Since that is going to be a waiting game I bought my shocks to try and get my pilot finished up finally

that sucks, when did the rears get discontinued? Glad I got a set not too long ago.

I went today to get a price to have the stock seat reuphostered and I was shocked by how much the shops wanted. They were all close to 250 and out of the 4 shops only one said they would replace all the foam not just cover over the old foam and vinal. So basiclly 250 for a cover that's stapled on. So now my choices are a suspension seat or find a really good stock seat. Anybody have a shop that can do a seat for cheaper?

I ran into the same problem, it was just cheaper to get another seat in good condition. Seems I read a post on here awhile back about someone just using a automotive seat cover, maybe a cheap alternative until a good deal shows up on a seat.

I have a shop here in Wilmington that will do one for $125.00. I will post a picture of mine when I get it done.

Cant wait to see it. Now did they replace all the foam? Mine all needs to be replaced. I have huge 6 inch long cracks through the foam so it all needs to be gutted and recovered new.

I worked on the water jaket today for the cylinder. I just have to make passages through the fins inside and make the stubs for the hoses and then have it welded all together.

pretty good idea, I am very curious to see how it works out. I wonder if you could make a jacket for each side and then just drill holes to the depth of each side in order to jacket up more of the fins? What makes aluminum welding so difficult? I would guess that with your fabbing abilities you are not too far away from being able to weld it yourself.

I have never welded aluminum and a welder for aluminum is 1700 bucks compared to my regular welder of 600 bucks. I don't weld aluminum enough to justify a 1700 dollar purchase so I will have it done.

What gauge aluminun did you use for the water jacket? Looks good.

Its 1/8th inch aluminum. Its the same thickness as the fins. I thought I should match what is there already. thought it might weld up nicer with the same material.
