Here are some pics of the 1990 Pilot I just got, it is hands down the cleanest Pilot I have ever seen. It is going to take a lot of work and money but this Pilot will be put back to oem original with all or at least most Nos oem parts depending on what parts I can find that I do not have. All the fenders are scratched and will have to be replaced so probably all the red plastic so it will match, 3 brackets have been welded to the frame for the rack & pinion, they will have to be cut off, I have another perfect 1990 frame that I was going to do a restoration on and I thought about using it but I am torn, I do not want to take out or even touch the bolts on this pilot, I can not find any witness marks on any of the bolts or nuts and they have there original factory yellow marks, pretty sure I will just cut off the brackets and not touch as much as possible when putting it back to oem. It needs new complete steering column, complete steering handle with masters and brake hoses, tie rods and ends, the front brakes have been completely disabled, they put a bolt in the end of the front brake line to seal it so I am thinking the front brakes have never been used as this Pilot was converted when brand new. This surprised me. Also with the setup they did on the gas and brake handle, when you apply the gas it also applies the rear brake just a little so the rear brake was being lightly applied every time you hit the gas. One nice thing is they used the original rear brake master but they modified it, I am hoping I can piece it back to original. I have only taken the surround off at this point, I have not even cleaned it yet. It will be a while before I get serious on her but in the mean time I plan to make a list and start hunting down parts.

That’s a great looking pilot! I chatted a little with the PO, he seemed pretty down to earth. You should definitely do a write up with some in depth pictures of the alterations on that, it looked very well done! Also do you have any pilot mirrors by any chance?

Hello Malcolm, thank you Sir. It is a very very nice Pilot, the steering was not done quite as well as it looks. The rack & pinion on it work more like a car rack, you have to turn the wheel round and round, I have not counted how many turns but way to many to be able to run the machine through any tight trails. I have already had a couple a gentleman contact me about selling the rack, one was in a wheel chair, when I explained how it worked they agreed it was not something that would make riding easier even though it is very very easy to turn.

There is a race in T or C on memorial weekend, I am doing some things to my LT.
You should go and spend the day, Tech. is Friday May 25th. and the race is Saturday the 26th. We are going down on Friday and staying the night, if I get my Pilot ready.
