Hello to all, working on the radiator I want to run two of the brackets from the main roll cage bolts ( the long ones )
the problem I am having is that the steel I am using is 3/16 thick and I do not think the bolts will be long enough.

Does anyone know if honda made longer ones for the nerf bars, any help here will be greatly appreciated.
I do not want to use after market bolts unless I have to.

Merry Christmas to all and take care.

I want to make the complete radiator assembly bolt on for easy removal, I am getting a friend of mine to weld brackets to the radiator cross bar mount an then I will bolt those to the brackets I am making.

That's really good work, but, I can't believe you cut up a Pilot frame for it!

Hello, mounted the new roll cage bolts and started on the radiator mount.
I cut up a trashed and yes it was trashed pilot frame to use the radiator mount.

Good morning guys, yes I promise it was trashed not only were there many flatened bars but it was tweeked big time. I would not destroy a useable pilot frame, I am going to cut out every good piece I can off of that frame.

The air filter has been on my mind for a while, I am going to run a foam filter with a K&N water pre filter.
I was going to run the K&N filter as well but after seeing what has been posted on them here I no longer trust them.
I do want to come up with a better system at some point but right now I am just trying to get it done and running.

Merry Christmas and thank you all for the nice comments.

Hello to all, well I finishied the brackets for the radiator. I have been grinding the brackets down and doing the finishing touches on them for the past few days, I have not been able to spend a lot of time on the odyssey this week as my youngest daughter had her first baby a beautiful girl this last Saturday 12/26/09.

These pics are of the rough cut on the brackets and cross bar mount, I am working on making it all look good now and will post some more pics very soon.

Happy New Year to all, take care and be safe.

The one thing I will have to do is cut out the schroud right over the radiator cap, I did not want to do that but the radiator has to be removed to remove the schroud and to get the radiator as high as possible and as far forward as possible this has to be done. The radiator is protected by the roll cage and I have left as much room as possible to work on the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) without removing the radiator, if the radiator does have to be removed it will take very little work.

Thank you Jim and right back at you, your odyssey is looking very very nice. I really like your motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )), wish I had done the same.

Thanks again and take care.

The water pump and 2 hoses pictured are off of a Saturn, I did a radiator on one about five years ago and saturn updated the system to run with out the auxiliary water pump. I did cut the hoses down but they fit just right.

hey scpilot66 lookin real good.is that scale buildup i see in the discharge side of the radiator.if so go get cool aid or generic cool aid lemon or lemon lime flavor and boil the radiator in that its a great scale remover.we use to use that in the navy to remove salt water scale from our heat exchangers (kinda like a radiator but uses salt water instead of air to cool) on the ship.its cheap and works quite well.later jim

Hello Jim, thank you for the tip. After I finish the install I am going to send the radiator out to the guys that do my radiators, I am going to have them go through the whole radiator and paint it with radiator paint that releases the heat.

Your radiator and water pump look great, very nice.

Thank you again and take care.......Steve

I have finished the radiator install, coolant resevoir and hoses. It all still has to be taken back apart and painted.
I am working on the wiring for the rear at this time.

I had to back track a little on the wiring harness, I am using the pilot CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) power wire to power up a relay for the water pump, it will come on with the run switch. I also had to run a power wire that will be fused from the battery to the relay for the water pump.

Hope everyone is having a good year so far, take care.
