No the axles are straight, that's not what I meant. My steering shaft coupled to the power steering isn't perfect. But it should not matter at all since they don't rotate at a high rpm

Well, finally can say my suspension is done. I cannot thank Dave enough for putting up with me and helping me through some issues I had with suspension binding. Turns out one axle I assembled the outer cup and the c clip missed the groove it was supposed to sit in and went down in too deep. Thus making the axle shorter and causing all sorts of headaches and wtf head scratching.

But with good news come bad news.... No more funds to continue at the moment so she gets stashed away until I find an Engine for it. Don't want to do the same old Engine as everyone else. I have another 670 sitting on my bench but I am going a different route. Hoping to find a wrecked sled this winter. Right now all my money is going into my truck. Heads in for paint after the first of the year.. Can't wait... But don't want to pay the price! I'll leave you with a few pics. As you can see from the last one... She is already buried.

Fully, I want to improve on it. I want efi if that gives anything away lol. Stay 2 stroke.. But efi.

Pilot bird possibly when I dig it back out. For now its buried. Its not a hard install. Once you have the unit in your hand you can visualize what you need to do by holding it up beside the stock column. Pretty much barely fits in there.

Was the installation a pain in the ass? Is the steering column really as difficult to weld to as forewarned by Dave-Co?

It is a pain on the ass because there is no room for error. And it is difficult to weld because you barely have any room for a nice bead on the lower side with the splined shaft coupler. I just hope my welds will hold. I have a backup stock column if all else fails.

there was one year i believe in 93 that ski doo put efi on the 583...its rare something like only 500 were built...i would stay away from that one..but a new efi system would be really nice to have

Oh yeah definitely. I am planning on a 2000-up efi setup. This is why I can't afford an Engine just yet lol

i haven't been able to much this year, didn't ride at all..hopefully my back is healed up for next year so i can ride. been looking a lot at a 583 swap, that would mean i would have to sell the liquid cooled 360 Engine.

You don't HAVE to sell anything . lol. If I had that Engine I'd deinately hang onto it, use it as a centerpiece for Christmas dinner haha. Can't go wrong with the 583 though. Nice Engine. You will love the power.

You probably have access to sleds fairly easy up there don't you? The spare 670 I've got need resealed but is in good shape otherwise. Can't bring myself to sell it or keep as a spare for my Alabama pilot. . I like to horde engines and Engine parts

funny say that about sleds up here. there are tonnes yes but cheap no..once in a blue moon you will find a 583 powered sled for $500-$800 in running shape. most of them up here guys still want around that 2 grand mark. i see you guys south of the boarder buying those sleds for $400. for that price you can't go wrong. buy the sled throw out what you don't need and get the rest from farr

Tell you what, skidoo sled prices have gone up considerably over last year. Likely due to the record snowfall we had here in the midwest last season. A few triples have popped up, but always needing at least a jug and piston kit. The twins that have come up were either 1987-1991 models with many miles, or were 95-01's that were either broke or over-priced. When they do pop up for a "decent" price, they sell fast. By "decent" price I mean under $600 for a complete sled, running or not.
