Got back from the first ride with Speed's head. It ran real strong with no problems. I put about 4 hours on it. I can't give a good before/after review because I made many changes since the last time I rode it over two years ago.

Very please with the head.

I replaced the cylinder (and had Hoser port it), new piston and crank/rod so there are too many changes on this Engine to tell what the head did to the compression. Using one of the black sheets (from the three sheet Honda head gasket) I had .043" of squish and the compression after heat cycling it a couple of times was 170psi. I have not yet checked the compression since the ride.

Ahh can tell your are the dunes I see the sand on the ground :-) I also see it by the plug, PLEASE take an old tooth brush with you so when you go to read the plug you can brush the dust and sand away from the base of the plug before removing, I do this on stock heads also you could see where I wore most the paint off around the plug on my factory cast head :-)

I am running 2 of them with no problems and just had 2 more installed on other engines, the only complaint i have is I wish the plug didnt sit in a recess you have to blow it out with air to make sure no debris get in the Engine when checking the plug, (no biggie im just lazy)

Yup I hear you how ever even with the stock Pilot head that does not have the recess area you still have dirt that clings to the area around the plug because of the lite oil film that always seems to be their, what I do is use a old tooth brush to brush off the sand before removing the plug the brush is part of my plug inspection/cleaning kit...

I always used to carry a 1/4"-6mm, 2'-600mm long hose/tube to mouth blow out that area.
At one tube end,fix a small fibre brush to it as well.Brush,then blow.
Had it looped down, and twined in-out thru the head netting,so could'nt forget it.
