Sorry for taking so long but I'm somewhat of a workaholic anymore. On to the specs! 2 points that I need to make are 1) I have a suspension seat on a custom seat mount so on my firewall the bottom "bend" bends forward and mounts to the back of my seat rails. I would recomment using the same measurements and bending it backwards and using 2 1" rubber clamps mounted to the 2 angled tubes on either side of the rear lower frame. See pictures! 2) The bends in the picture are for mine so the bottom bend would be a 80 degree bend backwards instead of the 100 degree forward bend. The middle bend is needed to clear the exhaust pipe and to stiffen the firewall up to deaden the sound. A couple of dryfits will give you the exact bends you need. The lower cutout for the throttle and choke cable must be bent back instead of cut to give a rounded edge incase the cables rub on the firewall. Very important. As for materials, I bought the aluminum from Sears Hardware it was a 24" x 24" x .063 (1/16") and was about 25 or 30 bux. Home Depot and Lowes also carry the sheets but they don't have them in stock often. Either place has the rubber 1" clamps in the electrical department but I had to go to a local hot rod shop for the 1 1/4" rubber clamps. I think they are about $1.50 a piece. When bending the metal "DO NOT SCORE THE ALUMINUM" cause it will cut it when you bend it. Just use a 2x4 clamped on top of the aluminum on a bench along the bend and another board on top of the side your bending to spread the pressure evenly to keep form distorting the metal. It's mucho simple! I think that about wraps it up and I hope I didn't leave anything out. FL400 Honda Pilot fire wall Tom

FINISHED! I made an adjustment. Using a 24 x 28 sheet I also cut in a skid plate to cover under seat.

Looks nice how did it seem to work on the trip, any changes need to be made if you were to do it again? |

No problems on the trip. Tapped it once or twice. Only mod I would make is: Make about 6" longer to tuck under the foot board to prevent getting caught up on brush or rock in the trails. As of now...it stays as is.
