Post subject:  Throttle extender for FL350 and Fl400.

After hearing about throttle thumb fatigue from a few, I decided to throw up a small thread on a thumb throttle extender I modified to fit the Pilot or Odyssey. This modification really works for me. My thumb would get tired after about a half to an hour of hard riding. After I installed the extender, I don't notice anymore fatigue. I used the Mad Dog Thumb Assistant Pro. I had to cut it to fit the Pilot/Odyssey throttle lever. The extender is mounted about 1/2 inch off the front of the throttle lever and extends almost to the side of the steering wheel. You might have to mock it up to see what feels right for you. After installing the extender, I noticed the extra height of the extender really helps, at first I thought I wouldn't like the height, also the extender extends about 1/2 inch past the throttle lever, this gives your thumb more leverage. When the throttle is pegged, the edge of the extender will just miss the steering wheel, I used aluminum stand-offs the to get the height, also used stainless nylon lock nuts and machine thread screws. Since the project is already done, Ill let the pictures speak.

Heres some links to the Mad Dog Thumb Assistant Pro. I actually got mine locally.

interesting, if its just a matter of bringing the throttle lever our further and closer to the driver you can just take the thumb control apart and reposition it on the splines. I did this same thing last weekend.

Good idea Sunblock, bringing the lever closer to the driver helps. The extender also brings is further toward the steering wheel handle giving you more leverage too. Every bit helps for my old bones :-)

Looks like a good ideal for the Sled Engine powered Buggys. I hear a lot of complaints about how hard it is to push the throttle with 2 carbs attached.
