Went to the race this weekend worked the check point at mile marker 118.5 with the Parker Rotary club, wrote down the numbers and the time they crossed the road.

After the race they said Robbie Gordon won the over all but I see on their site he was penalized and ended up 3rd http://www.bitd.com/item/189-unofficial ... -race.html all I know is when he came blowing by our check point at course marker 118 the last check point before the finish he had about a 5 minute lead over the 2nd place guy.

When the race first started we walked out to the wash by our check point at about mile marker 15 and watched some of the first fastest fly by

Oh yeah they were like rolling thunder, unreal, guy said it was a 100k Engine didnt want to risk cooking it, dumped in the 2 gallons water I gave him then floored it said he was going to get it up to speed then coast the rest of the way to the pits a few miles down the road where they would meet and tow him back to the main pits.

Anybody that lives less than a 5 hr drive to these races should load up the toy hauler and go watch them .

When he said the Engine cost 100k I wish I would have asked what the whole truck cost but he looked stressed out so I didnt want to bother him with dumb questions lol I know the spare tires he has on back were Kevlar and I was told each tire alone cost about 1400.00 bux each then you add the rim cost  they have it molded right on the side wall "For Off Road Use Only" one racer lost one about 2000' from our check point we went out into the desert and recover it then called it in so his pit guys could pick it up after the race...
