Their are limits to where you can ride around the Vegas area http://www.blm.gov/nv/st/en/fo/lvfo/blm ... icles.html

Below is a boundary map http://www.nps.gov/lake/planyourvisit/u ... -Large.pdf showing the boundary where Off Road anything is not allowed.

I took the Lake Mead Recreational Area PDF map and overlaid the map in Google Earth then traced around the boundary then created a GPX file that can be loaded in your GPS.

What this will do is show you about where the boundary is in your GPS then as you approach the Lake Mead Recreational Area boundary you can tell your getting close if your on a established trail as you get closer you should start seeing signs in the real world, I have no clue of the accuracy so you will have to experiment they have some hefty fines if you go beyond the boundary with a OHV use at your own risk.

Here is the file you can load in Google Earth.

Here is the GPX file you can load to your GPS unit

Refer to your specific GPS model how to import the GPX data if you need to convert the GPX you can use this http://www.gpsvisualizer.com or ask maybe we can help you out.

Back in the 80's we rode atc 250r's through all the washes around there. One day we took a new wash and ended up on park property. Didn't take them long to start coming after us. We ended losing them only to end up in some new home construction (Lake Las Vegas). They were damning the Vegas Wash to fill a small man made lake for homes to be built around. That bunch was worse than the park service. They gave chase and and would run the tops of the washes while we were down in them. Finally lost those guys with a steep climb up a hill past them. Never went down that wash again. Used to be some great riding in and around Las Vegas. We used to fire them up pull out of the property and just head out. Now it has to be trailered and licensed...unless you live on the edge of town. But it's growing so fast the edge is always moving.
