The 6,000-acre Gordy’s Hill Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area is a scenic dirtbike and ATV destination overlooking the Rio Grande Valley and Bosque with a tremendous variety of riding opportunities. Off-highway vehicle riding is allowed on existing routes, offering challenges for all experience levels.

Take Exit 153 (Escondida Exit) off I-25 and head east then north to Escondida Lake; turn east and pass over the Rio Grande, at Pueblitos (T intersection) turn left onto Johnson Hill County Road and head north and then east for about 1 mile, then turn east and follow arroyo road to sand hill Staging area.

Note: I Never been here before the directions look sketchy meaning I zoom in on the location using Google Earth (download attached file load in Google maps) I don't see any parking area Looks like trails where I put the place mark "Zoom In Tight Here To See Trails"

Ok sorry for the delay in updating this I didnt have good web connection when on site so waited until I got home to update, this was a great ride I marked where I parked its in a wash so if their is rain in the area you might want to locate to higher ground just to be safe from flooding.

The trails close to where I parked are all whooped up so you might want to avoid them I found it best to head up the wash and look for branch trails, if you load up the file in Google Earth you can see their is a bunch more trails to be rode, some of the places I went were on dirt roads that might actually be considered "roads" and off limits to ATV's? I just assumed since their was official trails and trail markers right off these dirt roads and NO PLACE to park and unload at the trails that it was ok to use the roads to go from trail to trail, how else would they expect you to use the trails? I only seen one auto on these dirt roads all day long their is not a lot of traffic in the area, it would be nice to have had a local guide so you knew the best trails to take, great place for a really long day ride or a short weekend ride, I only did 57.8 miles but their is guessing another 20-30 miles of trails left to ride.

There even had some small sand dunes here to play on.
