With the Engine out of the way you can see the lower transmission mount is broken, ho idea how long its been this way assume it happen after the last time the Engine was installed in the Pilot its not something you really cant miss the trans moves forward soon as you remove the Engine/trans mount plates you would have to fight it back together with a broken mount.

The trans will have to be removed so the mount can be welded up, I wanted to go through this trans anyways since they had filled it with gear lube, I am not sure how well gear lube will circulate through a Pilot transmission given its extra thick consistency, the oil came out with a metallic hue in the oil MORE than I am use to seeing at a trans oil change but when it takes you over an hour to remove the rear skid plate and their is no holes in the skid plate to access the drain bolts for the Engine and the trans how often you think the oil is going to be changed.

Its kinds of funny if you think about it they provide no holes in the skid plate to service the Engine trans but cut over sized holes to expose the two bottom frame tubes and the disk for the brakes so they can take a beating lol the whole time I was fighting to remove the skid plate I was thinking Forest Gump is a mechanic?

that looks like a PWK Kehin carby. Is that a 39? I have that on my 500. I don't like the plactic idle screw, I assuming they used the plastic so numb nuts wont adjust idle up without lifting slider. I read you can get a brass or equivelant one. It also doesnt seem to keep a constant idle.

Yeah its a 39mm PWK most the Pilots I have seen with these carbs the idle screw is in all the way I have never had one on a Engine less than 400cc I assume its the large bore that requires it in all the way? I never spend a huge amount of time fussing with the idle circuit on any of my 2 stroke engines since they spend so little time at idle, you can run through the adjust idle sequence / procedure and dial yours in I bet your fluctuating idle problem is just an adjustment, I would go drive your Pilot get it up to full temp and adjust then see how it is stone cold, note what you needed to adjust for each mode, hot and cold to get it to respond and to correct the problem.

I usually cut just a small amount of the spring off when using that carb with the plastic air screw, works wonders and helps when adjusting.

Good tip thanks I will cut some off before I reinstall the carb.
