That sucks your 583 is toast. But when sh!t breaks, it always presents an opportunity for UPGRADE!

Run the Engine have someone hold a rag over the exhaust to kill most the sound see if you can pinpoint also get out the stethoscope and listen.

one of the best tools ever and even a cheap one works great. a long screwdriver pressed up to your ear even works.

i think its the crank rods or its piston slap(could be has the oem pistons) but really think its the rods

Did you have room for the stock bracket with CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) and electronics on the frame rail using the 583? Any pics?

I don't have the stock cage but on steves pilot there was. We use the CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) from the Skidoo and it didnt fit the pilot bracket. You will need to make a mount.

I found the 4 wire regulator fits in the factory location on a pilot. The CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition), I welded nuts to the frame so it sits in the same location as on am fl350. Check my Alabama pilot wreck to see a lot.
