The t fitting I have was letting all the fuel bypass. So put the jet in line to force more fuel to the carb and not lose it all going back to the tank. I will try what’s in your link.

Last trip to the dunes the intake manifold boot tore. I didn’t have a support for the carb and the air filter. I knew K&N made one with a stud on the end so it could be supported but didn’t really want to go that route. Ended up searching Uni filters sight and they make one as well. It only comes with a 3” opening on the carb side so I picked up a rubber spacer, their filter assembly and finally a replacement Mikuni rubber intake boot. Made a simple bracket from the top of the trans to the filter.

Unused the UAP-6300 6” long filter with 3” opening. They make longer filters with larger diameter openings as well. The spacer/adapter was just some silicone turbo hose that a local speed shop gave me a piece of from some used ones in a bin (sorry no part number).

Was going over the buggy and found this broken tab. So figured I would pull the pipe and have the finish redone since it burned all the high temp paint off. There is no airflow with the heat shield blocking there. After pulling the seat I noticed the crack in the pipe by the exhaust port. This pipe has been through quite a bit. It broke once before in this area and was repaired. It is a Power Pros pipe and was originally the 2 piece style but somewhere along the way somebody welded it as one piece. So... could the cracking problem be it is welded as one piece now? The motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) is rubber mounted as well as the pipe and silencer. Maybe just excessive heat or? I have a Power Pros 2 piece pipe for a pilot that exits the left side, I could have someone take the 2 pipes and make one good one out of it. I hate to cut up a decent pipe though.

Those two cracks tell me that there is a tremendous amount of vibration there.
If it was just one crack then maybe I would give it metal fatigue but not two.
That second one is really telling the story to me.
What condition are you Engine mounts in ?? Worn out and shot ??

The Engine mounts looked to be in very good condition. No cracking, no missing rubber, they even fit snug. I bought a couple sets, they are used and 25+ years old so who knows.

I picked up these wheels and tires awhile ago and the plan was to use them in place of the Champion wheels. They are Hiper 12” Carbon Fiber wheels with the Polaris 4x156 bolt pattern. I had a place make the conversion from 4x130 to 4x156. The front adapters are 1 1/4” thick while the rears will only be 1”. Front spacers ended up narrowing the front track 1/2” on each side with the different off set of the wheel even with the spacer. The rears will be wider at about 1 more on each side again with the offset of the wheel.. The tires that came with the wheels are a Kenda K585 25-8-12 front and 25-10-12 rear. Weight wise they are comparable to the champion rims and steel belted BF Goodrich 185/70/13 tires. The kendas are an 8 ply tire so with only a couple pounds of air in them they don’t even look flat. The Triple E is considerably less than a Polaris RZR so they tires are likely overkill. the orange bead lock rings will get replaced or painted with a different color.

So the power pros pipe on the right I’m going to have converted to a right side exit. That will be easier at the moment. The original pipe someone welded the two pieces as one and it was cracked when I got it. Cracked again after 2 trips out. Eventually it will be modified back to the way it was and used as a spare. Finally broke down and bought the other two wheel adapters so all 4 will be the Hiper wheels and Kenda tires.

Rusty came to Vegas over last weekend, I had given him the cracked pipe to repair. He brought it back as well as his welder. Converted a pipe I bought from redskinman from left to right side exit. Here are a few pics. Pipe fits well and we ended up up with more room between the fuel filler, roll over/return line, radiator hose. Still needs to be cleaned up and painted/chromed.

loud is all relative, compares to a top fueler that will be quiet

It’s quite a bit louder than the old setup, I’m going to repack and run with it. Look for a US forest service approved spark insert for it. They are crazy about that now.

CO I have one like that, after seeing your picture I went and dug through a bunch of boxes and found it.
I bought this kit on eBay to convert the manual choke on the carb to a cable actuated one. Purchased a Choke cable and mounted it on the “dash” above the steering column. Now It can warmed up while belting in. Cool setup.

Well, it’s been forever but I believe I’m done with this. Here is a pic of the Engine bay. I am trading some stuff to a friend who does polish and chrome work. So I had the pipe/silencer chromed and the belt guard polished. Biggest things I learned from this build are #1. Old specialty buggies are a pain in the ass for parts. The Time:money involved in Reproducing parts (some just from pictures) is ridiculous. #2, pre assemble everything before you powder coat/paint/chrome/polish/etc. here is a picture of the Engine area. I will post up some more final picks, when I can get it out and drive it.
