Bought this car in January 2015. It didn't run or roll when picked up. I have taken a bunch of pictures and found some good info on the parts for the car. It is. It original as the rear shocks, motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )), dash and some other parts were missing or replaced with what ever the previous owner could find. Nothing has worked and either needed replaced/rebuilt or made. Feel free to ask any questions. It's been fun but a pain in the ass at times as well.
Bob

File comment: The digitron didn't work, the brake line were full of rust, shocks leaked just sitting there. Didn't run and the cv's fell apart before we tried to load it.

File comment: Extra set of arms rusted. Every wheel is bent to piss. But it uses a 4x130 pattern all the way around. Some extra clutches but they turned out to be junk.

File comment: It was originally purple. The only color I am changing on the car is the body panels to a gunetal grey. Everything else has been put back to the way the car was when new.

File comment: The original 350 Engine is gone and it has a Pilot motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). This is the Engine Hoser went through for me. It starts and runs but haven't actually driven it yet. They did not modify the frame to fit this Engine they built a cradle the 400 bolts into.

It starts, runs, shifts but I need rear shocks and the wheels are out trying to get straightened. It will be going this year for sure but probably later in the year. Here are a couple more pics.

File comment: A mouse was living in the tube of the fuel cell. Most of the parts were dried out and cracked. The foam was still good so I just cleaned the inside of the tank and replaced all the parts.

Some pics of the Engine and trans in the frame and out. The control arm bolts were junk. Two came out easy. 11 were air hammered out and the last one I cut the tab off the frame because it wouldn't budge. Finally Coaxed it out. The arms would literally stick straight out and not go down. The frame was cracked by the lower motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) mounts so I had the gusseted.

Give it a try but it looks like its running low in the driven clutch to me, how about a top view of how tight the belt is in the drive clutch maybe the belt is just too narrow or worn?

You will find out more when you take it out for testing I don't think their is any harm in using up the old belts right wrong or other wise the thing to remember is the wrong fitting belt will affect performance so keep this in mind before you do a bunch of clutch tuning .

For example with your clutch starting out down in the driven like it is 1/4 3/8" (just a guess) your going to lose some bottom end meaning it might seem like its taking off in too high of a gear or like the rear tires are too large in diameter, a belt that was running closer to the outside of the driven might be like going from a 24" rear tire to a 22" or 18" and really make it launch out of the hole.

I will get a better picture of the belt. The sides of the belt are pretty worn.
Some pics. Of the front shocks. They are Fox shocks 10" travel. The tender spring has a number but the main spring doesn't. The seals were bad as was the oil and the nitrogen was gone. Found out the caps were cracked on both as well. Replaced those and the lines and had the shocks serviced.

Wonder if the cracking was caused by over tightening of the hose?

the fitting on the new cap looks like it is ported for an oring this would use a straight thread, the fitting on the hose looks like a pipe thread, tapered, pipe threads in pipe fittings if over tightened can cause a crack, bee careful.

It is a local guy. He does a lot of setup for the bikes and quads here in Vegas. He did my quad and setup my street bike for drag racing. Pro-Action is the name.

Hoser that's what the shock guy was saying. Plus the age and use may of had something to do with it. Luna, Fox no longer makes the adjuster caps with pipe threads. But they do sell a hose with o-ring on one end and pipe thread on the other for people with the older shocks. I am looking at the Fox 2.0 10" travel for the rear. I will get the reservoir but debating on the compression adjusters.

Here are some picnic the rear bearing carriers. 2 bearings per side pressed in then the huge circlip. It went flying across the room more than once. Before and after pics of the finish. The last bearing to be pressed out was the only one with a readable part number. Found some NOS bearings at a great price. The hub in the last pic is just sitting in there. I didn't have the cv's and axles ready at the time.

The axle splines I cleaned up and they move in and out easily now. The original cv's fell apart when we tried to roll it out of the garage. The lobro cv's on it were garbage. I tried two of the best ones but they were binding. Replaced all 4 of them with EMPI, no binding and I will see how well they hold up.

The front brake lines had rust in them so I picked up some new lines and bent them. Replaced the braided lines. It used 86-89 Honda Trx 250R calipers. Rebuilt those and picked up some pads off of eBay. CNC master cylinder bodies were still good so I just replaced the internals. Front bearings were shot as well.

Notice the axles have a right and left markings on them.

Yep, I could not cross reference the axles to anything. No idea who made them either. I'm guessing the difference is which way they do or don't twist under load?? It's been a fun build so far. The rack-n-pinion I googled the patent number. Found out the maker(he has passed away). It's a Wright R&P. Some good info in the schematic and literature. The control arm bushings were another story. No numbers and they didn't match anything out there. They were modified to fit the arms and the bushings. I had a friend make a set out of delrin for me. My neighbors dad owns a chrome shop so everything originally chromed was redone. The powder coat guy did great work until he disappeared with some of the body panels. So I'm looking for someone to trace one of theirs for me. I don't expect that to happen anytime soon.

Thanks, I'm waiting to see what magic they are trying to perform on the original Champion wheels. If not I have found wheel halves from mini sprints that will work with a second set that came with the car. I wish they would of put reinforcement rings on the inside of these wheels. You would think I tore would be cheaper than the inner half of the wheel. Some before and after pics. Some of the wheels are beat to death. I will see if I can find the pictures.

This is the area where the frame was cracked. Added these gussets to prevent anymore. The ones are notched so the tank can move all the way to the rear and have access to get to the fuel outlet.

Love the work you're doing. I have the same futon... I don't think the wife will let me lay panels on it though.. Lucky guy! :-)
