Picked up some round stock aluminum for wheel adapters. Headed to my uncles this weekend, he has a lathe and mill so all I have to do is watch and learn. The adapter in the second pic came off of the buggy I got from turbo. I figured I would just copy that design. Mine will be 4x130 to 4x156 to fit the wheels in the previous pictures.

I neglected to check this thread for a while... awesome work! Your car is really looking nice. Good luck with the wheel adapters. Stupid question probably.. did you ever get a quote from anyone that does cnc to make replacement center sections for those wheels? Where do you buy raw aluminum billet at? Keep it up, looks great. |

For just the adapters the pricing was upwards of 150-200$ each. I didn't even price the center sections. The adapters being 7/8 thick will push the front wheels out so they will match the stock width. The Polaris wheels have a lot more negative spacing than the original wheels. I priced different offset inners ( 3 piece wheels) but these are the carbon fiber wheels and they were more than I wanted to spend again. I asked my uncle if he could make them for me and he said yes. So, hang out have a few drinks and watch a guy with a ton of talent when it comes to fabricating. I bought the aluminum on line from a place out of Michigan. It was a 9" diameter by 5" thick piece was around 97$. it was easier to buy online than in Vegas. |

I was able to pick up some Champion wheels/centers/parts. A big thanks to Peter Kay, he knows his stuff on these old cars and talked to me for a couple hours on how to set things up (clutches/suspension/brakes).Not sure how much I will be able to use but it looks like I at least scored one complete front and one complete rear wheel assembly. The wheels are in very good condition. The centers are bolt patterns I don't have but are still useable. I couple bead lock rings and a wheel setup I hadn't seen before. The second picture shows the wheels halves one fitting inside the other instead of just butting up against each other. I've now seen these wheels with no bell, full bells and only one side having a partial bell. Some have interchangeable centers and others are part of the wheel assembly. Again if anybody has any of these they would like to sell please let me know.

Nice! Congrats man. Off a Briggs right? He liked to use the smallest hardware possible. |

Yes, All of his major parts are for the Briggs cars. He has some nice stuff. I'm hoping to swing back by in a couple months when I'm in California again and talk to him some more about clutches. He still has quite a few contacts so hopefully I can score some more parts/pieces. He has a couple in the works as well. |

I finally picked up some tires I believe are close to the size they used. The rims I had straightened, a reinforcement ring welded to the inside and cleaned up the inner lips where the tires seat. The wheels had been welded a few times and when I got the car the tires had tubes in them. This first wheel is holding air without a tube and I’m hoping the second one will follow suit. The wheels are polished and next I will pick up a tire groover and have some fun with that.

Great job dude, rims look sweet! A lot of work messing with those bead locks! I'm glad you found some tires. I, unfortunately lost most of the spare ones I had in a garage fire. Good to know some are available. |

3rd times a charm. Pulled the trans because it was leaking. Found out I had a shielded bearing and not a bearingn with a seal. Replaced those and had a friend look at it to figure out why forward was and vice versa. Two of the gear sets were installed upside down. Put it back together and will install the cv flanges and drop in this car and see what happens.

The transmission is back in and everything is hooked up. Just need to get a 12 point torx for the cv bolts. Will take it out for a spin next weekend and see how it all works. Still need the skid plate under the trans made and a belt guard. I picked up one from a Briggs car and it looks like it will work with a few mods to the mounts.

Yes and no. I was told the size I found is smaller than the original tires used . But when I ask what was the size all I get is taller than that. So these will do just to have fun with. I went off the size that was on a set of rims that came with the car, that tire and size aren’t made anymore by Yokohama. BF Goodrich doesn’t have anything either as well. |

Post subject: | Re: 98 Triple EEE | |||||
Yes, they are 13”. Happy to have something to fit the wheels. More of a so-so period correct thing. I have the narrower version wheel I will be running most of the time. All The years I sold tires, who would of thought this stuff would be hard to find. The yellow Triple Eni picked up is the same way with tire size. 205/70/13 snow tires I will be looking for next. Here are a few more pics of the 3 piece radiator shrouds. I found a picture of a Triple E with this set up and thought it was cool. No way to Tell if this buggy came with all this but it has tabs for all of it. Bob

Good, visor and kick panels were painted. The hood developed a run and sanding didn’t help. Will try a 2 stage paint on it next. The visor and kick panels look great though.
