I picked up this cylinder awhile back. It is at 81mm, has a Cool Design head but I don't know which dome. I looked but can't see any markings on it. It has been ported, I added some pictures. I suck at picture taking and videoing. Had a go-pros for 10+ years and I still have to think about which button starts and stops video. It has a intake that has been welded on in place of the original. The reed cage is 3 separate pieces possibly out of a KX500. I'm guessing on that though. Here are some pics.

You can fill the dome with water and measure the cc, then you can compare with someone on the board. Hopefully you can find out what size dome you have:)

May I ask what are the pieces on top of the cylinder head? I would imagine one is cht for a digatron.
The intake looks crazy, do you think this was a hack job or done by a good Engine builder?

I was told (always a good way to start, lol) that this top end came off of Theresa Whitmans pilot. Her husband is Tom Whitman. There are pictures on the forum of the pilot. I believe it was called the Carolina or Carolina steel pilot, something like that. The pilot has changed hands a couple times but it is currently sitting in a garage here in Nv. with a 500 top end on it. One of the sensors on the cool head is for a water temp gauge and the other is supposed to be a temp sensor for a fan. The guy who did the welding also did the port work and did all of the Whitmans fab work. Again this is what I was told, so take it with a grain of salt. It originally had a super BN 46 mm blackjack watercraft carb on it. I didn't get that or a piston/rings for it.

Old thread but I had CW Racing bore this to 81.50 and it ended up needing a 2mm spacer to get everything lined up correctly. Still don’t know the cc of the head but I have it back and eventually it will run on one of the pilot lower ends. The reed assembly is an original V Force and they don’t make reeds for them anymore. I may just run a keihin carb on it instead of the watercraft setup.

I believe McMasterCarr sells sheet spring steel if you want to use metal but that company seems weird to deal with. They don't sell to canadians and only sell to businesses. Weird company.
Probably a few other companies out there that sell sheet carbon.

Odd looking setup, someone went to great lengths to install that intake setup on the cylinder, wonder what the gains will be?

Did that top end come with a head gasket, going by memory the stock head gasket would not allow full flow?

It didn’t come with a head gasket. I sent it off to CW racing and let him figure all that out. He’s also the one who sorted out the thickness of the plate between the cylinder and crankcase. I was told it was done like this so they could run a watercraft carb.
