I purchased this Drakart. Drove out to Kansas to pick it up Monday morning and came home with it yesterday.

Mark bought it and rewired everything. He cleaned it up a ton. I have only taken one picture of it since I just got home and it is cold but here it is. I will also include pictures Mark took at his house.

2003 Extreme with the Sprint Turbo motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) in it. I do not know much about this car

Cool

So you bought the Drak Mark Welborn owned - nice....

He bought it from a Guy named Denis from KC in Oct of 2010 - I think Denis went by Dent on the boards at one time

I believe Denis actually swapped in the real Geo Turbo in it when he had it but was chasing an electrical issue of
some sort - which I believe Mark fixed when he cleaned it up and redid some of the plumbing on it...

I believe Jerry also knows about this machine as he was in contact with Denis at the time also

I included a couple of picts that Mark sent me when he first got it...
You will notice it has an oil cooler on the back and the inter cooler on the nerf bar - I believe Mark removed both of them

Denis claimed that the real turbo powerplant was a great improvement over the non turbo geo it had in it before

PS
Damn now I got the twitch to go work on Ol Blue.....

Dennis

It seems nice and clean now, everything in its place.. That said, it is tight in there, no room for anything. LOL The intercooler was attached to the nerf bars but mark took it off. I will see if I can find a place for one but Mark thought it ran good without it and did not heat up.

Yep - I'd run it for a while and see how you like it before changing anything...

I remember he had it at LS last fall (I believe - Memory always first to go) and
It was cruising right along...

Congrats
Dennis

Mark had some sand tires on it at LS that were 22". Way too small for that motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )), said they rapped out quick. I got both sets with the drak, a bigger set on itp rims (sharp, 12" rims) and the smaller set on beadlocks, 10". The itp rims need a bigger set of front sand tires, 22" is too short. I will have to find the right combination. I will call my buddy who has my 660 turbo drak to see what size tires are on it, they were good.

Looks great Ed,first thing I could imagine is how quiet it would be compared to the 2 strokes?
I love the power of the 2 strokes, but not the 3 day ear ringing after my races.
Always sounds like I'm at the beach with the waves shore crashing? :-)

What are the Engine specs, power figures,,I'm not familiar with the Engine, most probably have different names to similar cars downunder?

Lets hope this one gives you more luck Ed,have fun Mate.Congrats. :-)

Cool another Drak to chase! Congrats. What happened to the two seater quest? I guess Mark liked his Tiger enough to sell this one, he still has the Tiger I assume? If memory serves me he picked it up for cheep cheep and extra parts to boot. Yu can definitely tell it has The Welborne touch, looks sweet!

Very nice looking . Would you sell the red beadlocks and sand star tires. Or better yet would you sell the pilot

For the right price, everything is for sale, Pilot included.. Jerry and I want to do a ride before it goes but if it went early we could share the Drak. Not sure on the beadlocks yet as I need a sand set up and I am not sure which way I want to go. Again, money talks.. LOL

He did get a good price on the drak and passed that on to me as well, Thanks Mark.. The "Welborn" touch is definately in affect here, she looks good. I just have to get the pilot wheel on it so I can drive it.

If we can get Jerry back to LS, I should have an extra Pilot for you if you sell the LT500, Heck we could trade off with the KFX just promise you wont lawn dart it  We will have to avoid that hill, Its location still programmed in my GPS by the way. haha.

That works for me. The Drak, Pilot and KFX will all come with me if it is all still around. If someone is really serious about buying the pilot, throw out a number.. I cannot give it away but I know the LT's are not bringing as much as they use to. This one has all the bells and whistles.. dirt tires and sand tires, not sure which ones at this point since Mark gave me all sorts of options now.
As long as we can hook Jerry up when we come I would let it go.
