Hey guys, always been a Chevy guy but have owned a few ford trucks over the years. Pickup was getting tired and developing a nice knock some bought a ecoboost f150 the other night.. Always been a V8 or diesel guy but have also had many turbo cars so I decided on the ecoboost ford. In all honestly I'd would rather have bought a Toyota but the price between all of them, I couldn't go wrong. I get and x plan pricing though my work on top of the rebates and discounts they offered I got the truck for like 10k off sticker. Couldn't get over 4k off a Chevy and none on the yota, and only 90 more for the ecoboost vs the 5.0 l v8 cause of the rebates. Only had it a few days but damn I'm actually liking it. Guess my questions are to the owners of them now. Not really wanna get into the turbo v6 vs v8 debate and how its only been around a couple years. I know all that stuff, researched the hell of them, have had a direct injection turbo car before and loved it, so i chose the ecoboost. Just wondering how the guys like them, any issues and mods done as far as exhaust or tuning?

You kidding me that's it?

My moms 1997 plus cab 1/2 ton pickup with the 305 Vortec gets 20-23 mpg hwy since new, I would have thought after all these years of advancement the mpg would be closer to 30 mpg, no idea what her truck gets city she mostly drives it on hwy she bought it for her road trips between Illinois and Florida, she has written down every tank of gas in her mileage book since it was new, you should see her book keeping she is better than carfax haha

damn...she did well.
My last Chevy was an 04 with the 5.3 and I've never got over 20mpg out of it in the 160k I put on it. I'm sure the ford once broke in and I learn to drive it normally it'll jump up a bit, and keep in mind its 365hp, so I was pleased with it

And the 23.5 I got was from my driveway to another board members driveway and only about 40 of the 60 miles were highway. Should have reset it once I hit the highway but wanted a true average

nice video...sure sounds good.... Betting the ls1 is a helluva lot cheaper to buy and maintain though

Had a eco, sucks for towing, I towed 7500lbs enclosed trailer to TN and averaged 8-9mpgs, bought a dodge 6.7 2500 mega cab 2 wheel drive and did the deletes and got a h&s tuner for it, towed 12k with it on same trip and got 13mpgs, I get 27 - 28mpg on the highway if I keep my foot out of it easy, and 22 mpg combined around here. The best avertised fuel economy is 25 I belive, but good luck getting it. If you want milage, don't buy a truck, the price you pay is milage for ability as a truck. I will say the ford was a nice truck just didn't fit my needs.

thank you...I have heard the same about towing with it..like you said though, I didn't buy a truck for fuel milage....the wife's accord takes care of that for me! Wanted another duramax but live less than 2 miles from home so.the diesel is about useless for me for as much as I tow anymore... Other than a few trips to the track with drag car in the summer.. Buddy just did an h&s delete on a 12 denali... Wow is that truck sick now.... Can't imagine a voided warranty on a 65k truck though, but hes young, single and has no kids...so more power to him...lol.
