Are possible restrictions on federal public lands coming soon?
Contact your senators and representative today!

While touring federal public lands in California, Interior Department Secretary Sally Jewell once again called on Congress to quickly set aside more land for conservation. If Congress won’t act, Sec. Jewell said, she will recommend to U.S. President Barack Obama that he designate new public lands for conservation, potentially limiting access for motorized recreationists.

The American Motorcyclist Association believes that only Congress should have the ability to limit access to public lands through appropriate Wilderness designations. The President should not have the authority to usurp Congress by administrative fiat.

As a result, the AMA is currently supporting S. 104, the National Monuments Act, as well H.R. 250, H.R. 382, H.R. 432 and H.R. 758. These bills will require congressional and local approval before designating new National Monuments.

President Obama designated five new national monuments on May 25, 2013.

Please let your senators and representative know that you support these bills by clicking the “Take Action” button and sending them a prewritten letter.

Now more than ever, it is crucial that you and your riding friends become members of the AMA or ATVA to help us fight for access to public lands. More members mean more clout against the opponents of motorcycling, and your support will help the AMA fight for your rights – on the road, trail, racetrack, and in the halls of government.

haha yeah then have the AMA calling you sending you emails and snail mail for the next 10 years, NOT falling for it fuk the AMA they can kiss my ass they are worse than a virus.

AMA wants your personal info so they can sell it to sponsors and advertisers, lobbyist etc. I learned this lesson the last time I bought a ONE DAY membership so I could ride with Cowboy at that motorcycle track in Byron Illinois, I received a flood shit mail for the next 10 years NEVER AGAIN AMA!

You want to get involved BYPASS the AMA and join someone like BlueRibbon Coalition http://www.sharetrails.org

AMA is a business that wants to make millions off your personal information.

That's "funny" after getting the email and posting it I realized I haven't been a member of the AMA since it was required to race motocross back in the late 80s early 90s... Not sure how they got my email address and I didn't go to their website... Been a member of BlueRibbonCoalition for years and they didn't send anything out so like you said it must be "fund raising" time of year for the AMA to buy their lobbyist for free dinners in Washington with those up for re-election.

Not that I recall - they must have bought a list from someone......more potential "victims".

I use to play with the Sierra Club and get on their chatroom this was back in the early 90s on a 9.6 analog modem and when I got my first Pilot and mess with their heads about riding in the Pine Barrens in NJ... Drove them nuts....
