He used a shotgun - not an "assault" rifle or a pistol, so there probably wont be much media coverage or outrage. I read the shotgun was concealed in an music instrument case. Its a shame kids are doing this. I wonder how many kids were shot or shot somebody in Chicago last month. Ya don't hear much about those. The shootings don't take place in schools and its almost like the thought process has become business as usual. I wish we as a country could solve these problem with less deadly means.

It's the grand theft auto and call of duty games I'm telling you. I enjoy them but they are for adults. Kids don't understand that you don't get in gun fights and respawn and start over without consequences.

My brother was letting my 7yr old nephew play Grand Theft Auto for a while. Last time he played it my brother told him to turn it off time for bed. He didn't listen so my brother unplugged the system. He said the kid looked at at him all serious and said "I'm gonna cut your ((Bad Word)) throat while your sleeping." He got his ass painted red and no video games for a couple weeks. Now he's only allowed to play the mx vs atv games and the Monster Jam games.

Capitalism says your wrong about video games lol

You would think by now parents would be smart enough to know what games kids should be training their brains with.

I bought the daughter one of them baby Einstein DVD sets for her kids, see the oldest grand kid playing electronic games all the time but I never look to see what he is playing probably time I looked lol just assume the daughter is smart enough not to let him play the violent ones

I told my brother not to let him play it. He didn't think it was a big deal until that incident. I really do think it effects kids. Stuff is different with these electronics. My sister lives in Peoria so when my parents want to see the grand kids they usually pick them up for a week. My dad gets all pissed off. 3+4 year old "being raised by a tablet" "supposed to be boys" he says. First thing they ask for in the morning and fall asleep holding them. I'm interested to see how this generation turns out. They don't want to play outside, don't want to fish, don't want to hang out in the garage with papa. They just want to play on their tablets. Not my kids to raise but after seeing it I don't think my kids will have all this stuff. We had a Nintendo but my parents made us play outside and go fishing, learn to do stuff ourselves. We've already got a generation of 25yo guys who can't change a tire. It's pathetic.

Growing up my parents had a hard time keeping us kids in the house and getting us back into the house at the end of the day, we had TV that's it, we had the usual amount of toys for that time period, I ask my mom all the time "mom did we ever come to you or dad and say I am bored" she always says no because we didnt, we used our minds and were creative to keep our selves entertained, I usually ask her in front of the kids and grand kids lol .

We didn't dare say we were bored growing up. My dad always had a whole list of stuff for us to do that he expected to be done. Every day he'd come up with something. If you said you were be bored he'd add to the list stuff that didn't even need to done. Geoff is good for the I'm bored. Calls me about 3 days a week. Always the same thing. I could rig up a recording of myself and he'd never know it.
Me: what's up?
Him: what are you doing?
Me: I'm at work.
Him: That sucks I'm bored.
Me: Get a second job.
Him: screw that
Me: I haven't been bored in years.
Him: I'm gonna go find something to do.
Me: cool later.

Lol

Now what kids do....

My dad was great at solving "behavioral issues". I think the sick bastard liked it. As fast a could get my first job and move out i didn't talk to him until i was about 19. We get along great now. Truth is he was right. Only got it when I needed it. Strange to see him with the grandkids. He just laughs. Stuff I would've been flogged for. I guess he raised his.

Exactly!

I laugh my ass off when the grand kids do something to piss off their mother then she gets mad at me for laughing until I remind her she use to do the same exact same thing, followed by how much I am enjoying seeing her get the same treatment.

When the oldest of her kids was about 5 she called here and yelled at me "I have now turned into you" after she had some kind of confrontation with the kid she realized she sounded just like me when she was growing up, we both got a really good laugh, she said "what really sucks is you were right and now I am right.

IMO the same kid has a electronics addiction I am kinda curious how this is going to play out in the end I suggested she search for a study being done so it can be documented I know he and his addiction will be a wide spread problem in the near future, if it was my child all electronics would be removed from his grasp, touchy subject because they are expected to use electronics in school, guess he gets really upset when he is not allowed to use his electronics, tablet, iphone, E games etc.

Sounds like my dad. His favorite line is "You wait until you have kids, I hope they're just like you."
