If you go back and look at my post I've been complaining about the frickin rain for months. Its rained everyday but 1 for the past 2 weeks and rain forecast everyday for the next 10 days.I had reservations to go camping with a lake sight reserved for Mem day weekend.Got email tuesday they were cancelled, most of the sights are flooded. So hopped on the net and got the last spot available at another state park lake, but alas the rain chances shot up so I'm screwed, not gonna go.I've checked everywhere in Tx and Louisiana within 300 miles and they are all forecast for rain every day.I am so so sick of the rain I cant stand it!!!
Had to vent

Be fortunate you even have rain!

We here in Northern Nevada have a 5 year drought going. It's been raining on and off for the last week and a half and I'm loving it!

At least you can ride! ::: :-) Must be really depressing to have day after day of sunshine! lol
Yeah I hear ya,I know you guys need it bad,Cali also
Houston had a drought about 4 or 5 summers ago and it was the best summer ever! lol Weather was great every weekend for riding and boating, the lake was way down but it created this great beach area where we would park the boat and relax. Now if it would have lasted longer it would not have been good.

I though you Texans liked playing in the mud! I can see where you guys would get tired of rain constantly. Here we have to contend with heavy dust when riding. You can't even follow anyone close because it gets so thick. You have to hang back about 100 yards just to see the trail.

Most Texans do I guess,I have 3 parks within an hr of me,I can ride the Pilot there when its not muddy, but these parks are mainly for people on their 4 wheelers n rzrs that like to get muddy.
Yeah the dust sucks too. That summer I was talking about everyone was wearing dust mask or bandanas to cover their face because of the dust,a water truck would drive down the main roads dripping water to try and keep the dust down

Riding Park? Whats a Riding Park? LOL

Water truck? Man what a luxury! For us here in Northern Nevada, it's the great open expanses of the desert. Allow me irritate you by telling you that it takes me longer to pack my stuff up than it does to drive to the closest riding area!

You can hate me now LOL. :-)

Yeah yeah yeah already knew that and believe me I'm jealous :-) . And I forgot to add i work retail, and I get one weekend off a month and when that weekend is ruined by bad weather it really really sucks, especially when you've had something planned for over a month or longer,it especially sucks this weekend when I have the rare three day weekend And had this planned for over six months

I am Jealous too, One of the guys on the 500 forum lives up there, I think between Reno and Tahoe, He rides right out of his yard, head east if he wants to ride desert, west for forest and mountains, must be nice to be able to ride when ever you want, I mean when ever the wife lets you :-)

Do you know specifically where he is?

Sounds like he is in my neighborhood. Carson City is due west of lake Tahoe and south of Reno. I don't have the luxury of riding out of my yard though, I live smack dab in the middle of town. It take me about 10 to 15 minutes to get to either riding in the pine trees towards Lake Tahoe or just south of me to get to the pine nut mountains which is upper desert riding. You can actually travel North, South or East in one direction and completely run out of gas.

One of these days I'll get some of you guys to come ride up here. The offer is always open.

Rain is the only thing keeping your area from turning into a desert so enjoy while you can, go visit the desert and imagine the endless dust storms you would have until all your top soil blew away and left you with nothing but rocks :-)

Well its been almost 6 straight days without rain, hallelujah! that's the most days we've had in a row in a while. We did have a 10 day stretch in Feb with no rain but it was so overcast and gloomy{as evidenced by the fog} it felt like it was rainy weather.
As you can see April and May were particularly bad, hence why I expressed my frustration
Supposed to go riding at a friends deer lease tomorrow, woohoo :-) Hopefully the rain hasnt messed up the trails too bad to ride

Son showed me a video water running down the main street he found on facebook he also found one where RT80 was flooded by Ottawa too much camera shaking to figure out where it was taken, don't recall ever seeing RT80 flooded in the past assume the ditches are plugged up so it backed up nobody in the USA is maintaining our infrastructure they just fix shit out of reaction now it flooded RT80 they will clean just the ditches responsible call it good lol.

Haven't made my way to the river yet to see what its doing since 1/2 the dam is still broken I expected to see water backed up in my yard from the river lol, my pond is over flowing but that's not unusual for this time of the year , more rain from today through Tuesday morning.

Global warming?
All the weather experts that i have read say its just going to keep getting worse ith the bad storms occuring more frequently and more natural disasters
Pretty soon i think insurance rates are just going to go thru the roof, all these disasters are cutting into their profits too much
No rain all week here but has rained this weekend. Another weekend ruined by rain :(

What is the rain fall average in your area since they been recording weather?

Our weather has been what I consider normal for my lifetime regardless what any global warming alarmist has to say. I know for a FACT the planet is getting warmer that is what brought us out of the last ice age and is preventing us from going back into another ice age, to come out of a ice age the planet has to warm lol.

A one point in history the ocean levels were 600' lower than the levels today....

When I pass a Prius I downshift so they can hear me hurting the environment.
