What are others thoughts on the new Can-Am MAVERICK X3. It has quite the price tag but looks much more like a Buggy than most UTVs out there. Red and gold like the FL350 looks good

The question is how much money do you got, where will you be riding, how wide is it ??
I don't think even today that you can beat the cost to fun factor of and FL350-FL400 to any other machine out there. Just my opinion. Yes you have to wrench on the thirty year old Honda stuff but if it is fixed properly before you go out on a ride, your good. Since I have redone my oddy's they have not let us down. When we do have an issue it has almost always been due to a crash. Oddly enough I have had issues the two times that we have been out this year but I think it was my fault. I ran last years avgas. When we get out next week I will know for sure.
If you got money then go for it on the Can-Am. It looks like a sexy machine.

I just bought my first house so I'm as broke as they come right now. If I had the money my wife would have the money and be getting a new kitchen. It's nice to think about though. Kudos to those who can afford the car priced toys. Pardon my ignorance but how much did the FL350 cost new from the dealership in 1985?

If you want the base model its not much more in price than the Yamaha YXZ, unless you want it loaded with wider stance at 74" and 150 HP rotax turbo Engine. 26,999 MSRP, Base model 22,999.

If I remember right the FL350 was $3500 when it came out. I remember drooling over it but couldn't afford it. At the time a brand new KX125 was about $1000. I bought a new KXT250 Tecate three wheeler instead but don't remember the price. I know it was way cheaper. That Tecate was a kick azz machine.

I think they are all built like crap. I saw a new maverick 1000 in front of a Costco for display a little while ago. After looking at the rear suspension, everything is horribly cheaply made. The axles look like toothpicks, rear knuckles look flimsy and linkages look cheaply made. Now I know why I always see sxs with busted spindles or destroyed cv's when I ride my 26 year old buggy by them!

I've yet to see a yxz in person. I'd assume Yamaha knows how to build a relaible sxs based on their history of building quality off road vehicles. I could be wrong..
