Has anyone ever had their choke cable freeze during a ride? So I stared my pilot in my garage, drove it on the trailer and went to start it again once I got to my riding spot and the choke was stuck so I stuck it in our garage by the heater and it started working again.

Once I got home I took the end of the choke apart and sprayed penetrating oil down in the cable and put a little bit of synthetic grease on the cable. I also noticed that little rubber piece and the little plastic nut on the end of the choked seemed to have a little water in the joint. So I put a little black silicone on the joint between the two, I also put a very small amount at the top of the rubber piece where the cable goes in and a small amount on the choke holder nut threads.

Any other suggestions on what to do?

Could you cover the joint with heat shrinkable tubing?

I have had damaged cables, where the plastic housing was worn off and I sealed it up using shrink tube.

I'll do that if the silicon doesn't work. I'm half tempted to replaced the cable, but once the pilots sitting in the garage warmed up it works perfect, doesn't stick at all. I believe I replaced it like 2-3years ago but haven't ran them much since.

if you have water in the cable, you may want to try flushing it out with some wd40, then use some cable lube on it, motion pro makes a tool that hooks to the cable for lubing the cable.
