So I got my first ride in today on my 350! It was just up the street so a co worker could help me drill out the screw in the brake arm. No brakes on machine yet so nothing crazy. Just wanted to see if it rolled and it did. Here are some general observations from my short ride.

I think I had to give it way more gas than necessary before clutch, belt, etc. engaged and was real jerky to get rolling.

Man this thing pulls good when let Engine breathe and go! Really cool!

Steering is not real tight at all as I have heard. Going slow made it difficult to turn, like it tires just werent going to catch and turn buggy.

All of sudden I lost the start button feature. Never had one issue and then just stopped. In between testing and going to neighbors I disconnected the end of the parking brake from screw at caliper. Would this have anything to do with start button? I know it could be completely random but maybe I did shakenaomething lose to from battery.

I know you guys give great insight for me to investigate things so thanks in advance! Did put some new tires on her today!

Great to see you got to take it for a ride! Nice looking buggy too, should be a fun project. As far as the clutch engagement, they do seem to take a bit more gas than expected for the clutch engage, that's just the nature of them. As far as turning, they turn best when the back end slides around, so more gas is often better.

Not sure what your problem with the starter is, be sure that you are in neutral when you try to start it, mine sometimes takes a wiggle to get the neutral switch to engage, or you can remove this safety feature. It's only a safety feature to keep you from starting in gear. If you want to do this, you'll need to look for the sensor wire coming off the rear of the gear reduction transmission and cut it, and pull it to ground on the frame somewhere. This will let you start it up in any gear.

Best of luck! There's more than enough information on this site to get that fl350 back into tip top shape, so just keep on reading and asking questions!

Thanks Jacob! I had the steering wheel cover off while trying to replace brake cable. Once I put cover back on and aligned wires again have not had a starter button issue since. Riding Odyssey more this weekend definitely learned steering by power does help!
