I don't know if anyone really noticed, but a couple of years ago I put on a new set of tires on the oddy.
They were ITP mud lites. My shop has a concrete floor. When I was pushing the buggy around it was walking like an alligator. It would kind of hop or waddle.
So my thoughts are: I wonder what kind of harmonics that is putting into the suspension ??
I wonder what that does to handling ?? Something only a chassis engineer would know, I guess.

Edit: I am talking about tire profile here. The ITP mud lites are a blocky pattern with big spaces between the lugs. Some other tires have very close spaced lugs and therefore would not cause this hop or waddle.

I run the mud lites on my drakart and know exactly what u r saying. I tend to think on a off road surface that alligator walk may actually aid traction. Just a thought.

ITP Mud Lites are made for as the name implies..... MUD.

In my opinion, on a hard packed surface, they would actually cause a loss of traction at higher speeds. They have a lesser amount of a contact patch than say a pair of ITP Hole Shots.

Just my opinion. Not proven in fact as I have never ran mud lites. I actually gave a pair away when I sold my Ody.

We looked at the Hole Shots but decided against them because we felt the lugs were to small and the tires would wear out very quickly. If the lug spacing was the same but they were a lot taller they would get our vote. It would be a no brainer.

I don't use the ITP's, I use the Kenda Dominators which are close to the same tread pattern. They have held up pretty good.

Yes those appear to be bigger lugs than I thought
