Anyone ever use the needle fittings for their grease gun to grease pilot ball joints ?

Yeah I have done that to my FL350's.
It does poke a very small hole so I did it from the back side.
I did it this way because I was to lazy to take the clips off and fill the boot by hand.
It would have probably worked better by trying to slip the needle between the boot and the shaft.
(oops there I go again talking about shafts)

Or you can just remove them and do a thorough clean & grease. NAPA sells them off the shelf and they can be held on w super glue. Don’t laugh, it works. Done it and they still are holding. See this thread too - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1701&hilit=Joints+Ball+Glue

Good luck

That’s a good idea what I did when I put new boots on mine was take off the old ones and got boots that are bigger then the originals and they are held down with the pressure of the spindle. No glue, no zip ties no clamps just for the force of the spindle pushing down

You're correct, the pressure will keep them down however there may be a tendency for them to leak due to the constant movement of the the arms. At least the glue will keep the edges sealed up. Holds up amazingly well. Every time I've needed to do any work on the front end that requires popping the ball joints loose, it seems the boots get damaged/pinched/torn. For roughly $5 each, you can just scrape the surfaces clean and replace again.
