I know this is not buggy related but have to share it.
I have seen many a corroded part in my days but nothing like this. The last couple of days my brother and I have been replacing the front ball joints on his 2009 4x4 quad cab hemi dodge. In order to do the bottom ball joint you must remove the front drive shafts to get at them. The drivers side drive shaft we had to beat out with a 20lb hammer but we got it out. Yesterday and today we tried to do the passenger side. What a nightmare. It would not move so we removed the entire upright with the shaft still attached. We put it in my 20 ton press and it would not move. We added heat from a torch equipped with a rose bud. No go. So we cut the bearing apart with the torch and cut the inner race off the shaft (with no damage to driveshaft splines) because it would not come off. It was badly corroded onto the splines. Driveshaft still good. Now here comes the interesting part. We tried to press out the outer bearing race from the upright. With full power on the 20 ton press it would not come out of the aluminum upright. As I was reaching for a hammer a very loud bang and the inner race was laying on the floor. If you look close at the inner race and the aluminum upright you will see that the aluminum "attached" itself to the bearing race. Some of the seat area from the aluminum upright is missing and is "attached" to the bearing race. I don't think I have never seen this amount of corrosion and damage on anything I have worked on. Unbelievable.
When you look this poo up on Youboob all the posters just show how easy everything slides off -- Baahahahahaahahhaa. Morale of the story -- don't believe everything you see on the internet or the news.

File comment: You can see the missing aluminum seat and see that it is still part of the bearing race
