I just thought I would start a new thread on blocking the spammers.
I did post this in the other thread but thought it might work out better if I repost it separately.


Well I think I have found a solution to our spammer problem --------- SORT OF
There is a way to block these goofs from our end.

1) go to the "user control panel" in the top right of this page - click on it
2) go to "friends and foes" tab located on the left side of the page - click on it
3) on the left side again is a tab that says "manage foes" - click on it
4) it opens a box where you can type the goofs name
5) click submit
6) tab pops up that says "are you sure you want to complete this" click "yes"
7) DONE

Now -- I said it "sort of" blocks the goof.
Well it blocks ANY comments the goof makes but his name still appears on the main page. You will think new comments on those threads has come up but obviously that is not the case. The good part is the goof's comments are not there and if you see his name on the thread don't open it.

I also blocked the goof. Thanks for the heads up. Nice not having to look at whatever this Bot is posting. Just sucks to have to scroll through all the posts to find relevant ones. Sure wish Hoser would turn over the reigns to someone else.

Is there a pattern here????? Does the site seem to get spammers after Hoser makes new posts? DOes any one else agree?

I havent noticed that but it's out of control right now.There's something that doesnt seem right about hoser's post
I havent seen him chime in on anybody's post with any advice or criticism

The problem is, if there is too much spam, some browsers will flag this site as a risk and not let you log on.

He replied to mine and made reference to me being an Aussie with a backarse swirl problem.

Now IF something could just MOTORvate him?

I was kind thinking the system he is using could be infected and since he is admin the spammers gain access that way. Just a thought. I still say a new user can not post unless the admin approves.

Hard time...yeah I thought so too Rich.
It's obvious he's slowly coming back and whatever his reasons problems are he'll come back at his own time and circumstances allow.

Who knows Rich...could've sustained a real bad Papercut...they bloody hurt and take forever to heal!
