Finally my brother had some time to go for a ride.
We just got home and its dark now. Another half hour and we would have had to use the lights.
Went for a ride and took a gun. He wanted to try some long range shots and to shoot his home loads with special bullets he got. I was the spotter. He shot across the valley and range finder said 598 yds. I was impressed. His first shot was only two feet wide and level with the bulls eye. We even recovered some of the rounds.
When we were on our way down we saw three deer. Lucky for them it ain't hunting season.

Here is a zoomed in pic but you can make out the target on the tree and the one on the wet spot on the sand hill.

On a negative note ----- my brothers machine picked up a very bad vibration.
I noticed it when I was loading it onto the trailer. Not sure what it is because I watched the clutch while we were riding and it looked fine. I also checked the Engine mounts and all the bolts are in.
It feels like an Engine mount or counter balancer and you can feel this vibration in the seat and steering wheel. It's bad. But the machine ran great today except for this issue. It does this just reving it a bit in the driveway.
Anybody else run across this issue ??

Cool you guys got some shooting in to boot! What caliber is the rifle?

Bullet flight time to 500 is less than a second. Out to a 1k yards your just over a second usually. Like 1.2 or so.

75x on the spotting scope. Even a high end scope on 6mm bullet holes you won’t see the hole usually past 300 yards. Sometimes in the right light conditions and angles you might see bigger bullet holes on your target/paper.

Looks like your brother was shooting a copper solid bullet?

Wish I was along! Would’ve brought a rifle along to do some shooting with ya as well as riding our Pilot and our other wheelers.

Tie a piece of string to a piece of light material to make a streamer. I then tie it to a drive way marker. Shove it in the ground next to or zip tie it towards the top of your post on your target. You can watch the streamer thru the scope and use it as a wind indicator and for wind direction as well.

This was a spur of the moment trip.
We forgot some stuff like ear plugs LOL.
Another thing we forgot was balloons. We use those to shoot at and to mark wind. You use a streamer but we are all on the same page here .
He shoots a 30-06. We have other rifles but that's what he took out this time.

Great info on that spotting scope. I thought it was shyte. I was able to see one hole in a target but wasn't 100% sure. I just went by splashes. If the target jumped I knew he hit it.

It wouldn't be fun coming in hot an hitting that bunch of rocks, I guess you always have to be on the lookout for a big rock on the road. looks like fun.

CO, wasn't it you that said your brother always bends a rim when you two ride? I see why..lol Like always though, I love the view. South Florida is so flat the only hills we have are actual dumps. Man I miss living in New Hampshire.

These places that I post about are only minutes from my house. This particular place is about 15 min drive from my front door. I often bitch about my country and the things that are wrong here because we have so many issues, but then I read comments like the above. Then I realize it's not so bad. You know that song: "don't know what you got till it's gone".

Ya and the grass is always greener..lol Glad to see you at least got some riding in. I guess I shouldn't bitch. While you were riding, me and the girl were walking down Ocean Dr and Worth Ave on the Island of Palm beach.

Did some tests on it today.
Pulled the belt and started it ----- bad vibration
Pulled the clutch and started it ----- bad vibration
Pretty sure now it's a bearing on the counter balancer. Won't know until I pull the Engine. That won't happen for a while though. Still working on the death machine. The fuel pump is not putting out enough fuel. Getting very frustrated with this one.
Tried everything: Replaced fuel pump, did pressure test on Engine -- failed but not that bad, did vacuum test on Engine passed, replaced pickup line in the tank and went from 5/16 copper to 1/4 copper, replaced fuel filter, removed fuel filter completely and this FN thing is still not putting out more than 2.5 oz, hooked pressure/vacuum gauge to pulse line and got 5 psi pressure but got no reading on vacuum --- WTF ?? I was gona remove the R401 experimental that's in it and put in the red Engine that was in it before. Then I saw a split reed on the red Engine. So now I am thinking maybe the R401 has a bad reed but I don't see an issue when I look into the hole. Unfortunately I can't see everything without pulling the intake. F me. When I get time will get on my brothers machine.

So, on my machine and another I've been helping to tune, we've screwed in a Keihin 125 Main jet into fuel T output back to the tank. This gives the carb feed a little bump in pressure (.5psi) and flow. This helps to direct fuel flow moreso (bias) to the carb and slightly limit flow back to the tank. We're getting 5~6oz to the carb like this. We're only testing this now btw. Too small a main jet might over-flow the carb. You'll possibly want to run a full throttle capture check on the carb's overflow tube to be sure no significant fuel is overflowing the carb. So far results are good though.

You can also measure the flow rate directly at the pump's output for a test. Run a clear fuel line at the pump's output to see if its sucking/pushing air.

In another thread way back whenever, I noticed you mentioned not minding buying the China/Ebay/Amazon versions of the Polaris pump. Sounds suspect to me. Always buy Japan models.

Oh, such a great view! It reminded me of the off-road festival we attended with my father last year. It was organised by one of our relatives and there were a lot of different kind of off-road vehicles. It was a nice opportunity to meet with fellow RZR drivers but the best part was the nature for sure. We even discussed with my father about looking for some apartments for sale in Montenegro while we were there and settle in :) Once you are there you don't even return back home.
