Here is a good example of what is wrong in Canadian law.
You must allow an attacker to murder you here. That's THE LAW.

Kinda seems like they didn't believe he was telling the truth about what really happened. If he truly was in a battle for his life then f^(k what the law says..lol Better 5 years in prison than being dead.

Now to play devils advocate. If the guy took the knife from the intruder, chased him out of the house, then stabbed him 13 times and kicked the shit out of him after he was dead... I could kind of see that being excessive force, but I probably would have done the same thing..lol

Yeah I do agree with you on some of that stuff but my philosophy is "You kill me, I kill you right back".
This crap has happened on more than one occasion in this country.
If he would have used a gun on the attacker he would go to prison 100% for sure. There are many more cases of that here too. If you use a gun to defend yourself it's over for you here. Unless of coarse I am on jury. The only that will be hung is the jury.

I find it difficult to believe a jury would convict a person for shooting an intruder that stabbed the home owner? If I grabbed my rifle and protected myself from a night time intruder, who had a weapon, and I got convicted; I would lose all faith in humanity.
