I saw this today on FB and wanted to share it here. It is a FL350 Flat Track Race at NHMX in Lempster NH.

Looks like a fun event. Not sure if he is a member here?

Are you not surprised at this? :-)
I am glad someone is letting people ride/race in the Northeast.

I was considering it but it is a 3 hour drive for me each way & a little short notice. I do want to go and race at some point. I’ll probably bring a few up and some friends for a fun night. I need to get information on how you register & any requirements.

How close is it to you?

My brother and I are in this utube video.. the 583 or whatever it was was a young guy just going fast and then acted like a hero for having twice the power and winning.
My brother is fairly fast as I found out today.. he had a DG pipe is only difference. We went there today for practice. We were the only oddys there.
They wanted flat track tires which I had and brother had spider Trac type tires. We both had spiders last year.
Anyways usually have the races on Saturday nights. Owner loves to see the odysseys and welcomes us.
Rules? Helmet, pants googles.
Practice, heat(s)& main. $30 to race last year and $10 to enter

Very cool! :-)

I hope to make it to one of these races. I was wondering about the tire requirements so I'll have to get that sorted first. A lot of the flat track tires run smaller diameters. What size you got on yours, 18"?

Yes, I have 18" flat track tires.. My brother had 24" mud tires.. He had more to speed last time out.. now he has 20" "flat track" tires.. his tires are flat like a car tire, not officially flat track tires.. I hope to keep closer with his smaller tires that will limit too end speed??
Both our machines have good compression with pwk 39 carbs and clamp on uni filters..102c . Mine is a stock pipe his has DG pipe (loud).. Very similar builds.
Racing tonight!!!!! Lots of quads, trikes and bikes. Flat track tires not enforced by owner.. He loves to see these machines... We race last heat and mains...
Maybe only him and I racing.. Another guy had scheduling issue.. And the the boy with the snowmobile Engine is unknown

Hopefully can post pictures tomorrow ::-: .

4lofun,
Thanks for posting that info. !

I am working to get a FL350 ready for this event as well. I am not sure I will have it ready for the first races as I have some parts out getting serviced. I called hoosier tire west last week to get a better understanding of these tires. I didn't quite understand the T10,15,20,etc RD10,15,20,etc tire ratings. I was also concerned with the rear tire diameter and loss of top end speed. It recommends a 10-12" width rim for this tire (Hoosier 42237-RD15), What size width rim are you using? I have 8" width wheels for this project...

I am ready for some fun as well :-)

I have 10x10 rear wheels... With spacers.
I looked at the compound ratings and all were not choices for this tire size. This tire size @69"circumference (69/3.14=22)will be 22-22.99 " which is the tallest tire for a 10" wheel I could find.. there are taller tires which would need larger wheels.height must be affected by pressure and wheel width.
I am no expert on this stuff, was considering staggered tires in rear. Like the 69 on RR and a 67 on LR but was not sure of load this applies to transmission. Transmission is straight shaft? So may be ok?
Anyways I will run these , talk to some midget sprint racers and may stagger them...my brother will want one of these 69-10-10 to stagger his. And then we would buy 2- 67/10-10
They do prefer we have flat track type tires on rear.. Front does not matter to them.

I don't think it would work well with offset tires. As you suggested, the output shaft is solid on the FL350 so one tire would be spinning faster than the other. At least now you will be able to adjust your rear shocks for the corners. I am no expert either. I have never raced flat track before.

One thing I had also considered was using a turf style rear tire. They do have a similar profile to the Hoosiers. Thoughts?
