Looks like the last of Farr off road. Looks like he has listed the last few pieces. Hope he is well.

I should buy them all. :-)

the Engine mounts can't be to hard to make, probably the easiest thing to make out of all his stuff..his was nice because it was laser or water jet cut though, nice and clean. i wonder if he has the blue prints for it, like he does some of the other stuff on his site..

If Farr isn't doing it any more I can provide DIY pilot Engine mount kits, I built one form myself, I use 1/4" they will be all laser cut and ready to weld. I use more gusseting than the Farr mount but if DIY then a person could use all or a portion, you would need some welding or have a shop do it. you would need to make the zigzag bend in one side, I used a press, a heavy piece of angle and a V die on the press, the other thing that it would need in the 2 tubes for the front mount, they are a standard OD but for mine I cut out the ID a bit.
when I made these I had no intent on selling or competing with Manny but if he is out then I can do these.
I made 2 when I made mine, for the side with the zigzag, one set I put a slot for locating and ease for bending, the other set was solid, I have the slotted unit available, you would need to weld the slot but that one is already bent. this prototype kit will also need some clearance work.
if interested let me know and we'll see what we can do, maybe another member here may want to do the final assembly and welding and make some on the side.

I don't have a 350 and don't know what the differences are. I may have a chance to check one out next week so se how similar they are.

They are different. I have both machines.

The front exhaust side is similar but slightly different position.

The rear is completely different. FL400 used strong plates, hardware, and dowels to affix Engine to trans, whereas the FL350 has much weaker lower connecting plate and two upper connecting 'lengths'. It would definitely need to be re-fabbed.

I would be interested in one of your FL400 plates, Kuma. Please let me know

I'd be interested in both, ultimately.

I purchased the FL400 mount.

I picked up a project pilot over the past weekend. It has no Engine so, it's getting a rotax.

I'm pretty bummed out about farr off-road and it saddens me that he feels he needs to stop building these great parts that many of us enjoy. I give him a lot of credit, anyone building these custom suspensions and Engine swaps. It's not easy to do it right. I have been struggling to get my 3-link build right, I got frustrated and decided to take a brake from it. In hind sight I wish I just bought a kit! It would already be done and I would be enjoying it.

I hope he realizes that not all of us are A-Holes and we appreciate what he has done for us. Maybe one day to continue to..... ?

Emmanuel,
Are you really done for good?
Will you ever consider making parts again?

PLEASE!!! :-)

Thanks!!

I'm going to need a ton of help regarding this kit.

Few questions off the top of my head if anyone can help:

Is the 583 and 670 the only engines that fit this kit?

Do you use the Rotax primary clutch?

Does the stock FL350 fuel tank not work?

Anyone know a source for a 583/670?

Thanks

I believe that you could use the 500 rotax as well. Your going to want to find a 1990s ski doo snowmobile with the desired Engine. I can pick them up for under $1000 around me. It’s important that if you want electric start, you buy a sled that has it. Special ring gear on the primary clutch. So yes, you use the clutch. Probably want to find a aluminum gas tank, stock tank will not work.

Feel free to send me a pm with any questions.

I believe you can use a 600/700/800 as well. The mounting positions are the same if I recall correct. I think Emanuel lowered the mounts for the 600/700/800 engines because they don't have the rotary valve down low like the 583/670. I'd email Emanuel to be sure.

Use the stock rotax primary clutch. Fl350 tank wont work.

90s skidoo sleds are where you want to look for an Engine. Should be able to find a complete running sled for 1000 or less, and like curtis said if you want electric start find one with it or be ready to spend alot of research/trial and error time trying to find a combination that works. There are alot more non e-start sleds out there than with. And most of the e-start sleds are going to be the trail models. Not likely to find a Summit/MXZ with electric start.

As I recall, you have to mod the FL350 frame if you're going to use the recoil starter, correct? I really don't want a recoil starter, so if they have an electric start, do they have both by default?

You are correct, need about an extra inch on the right side frame if you want to run a recoil. If a sled has electric start it should have a recoil as well, but it's very easy to take it off and cut out a piece of flat aluminum to block off the recoil starter side of the block. I recommend running the recoil as a fail safe even with electric start. I've killed multiple China aftermarket starters with the big ol 670. At the very least carry some rope to wrap around the clutch.
