A little off topic but I wanted to share some photos of a dirt bike I recently rebuilt from the ground up. It is a 1987 Yamaha Big Wheel 200. Every seal and bearing has been replaced. It received all new plastics including the gas tank. Recovered the seat. Added front and rear racks to it. I upgraded the stock Engine to a modern 2020 Yamaha ttr230, including all the electronics, and carb. OMF dual beadlocks front and rear and converted to a 10" rear wheel as well. The list goes on, many NOS and aftermarket parts.

It's got a little more power with the new Engine and 6th gear now as well. Ready for another 35years of use. Hope you enjoy.

Very Cool...

I recently bought a Missile Kit to make a similar looking machine from a 250R

Those kits are nice. I have never seen one in person but they have got to be a blast to ride!

That looks more like a 2022 Model yamaha, very nice.
do you have the bead lock on both sides of the wheels?

On the missile kit, I saw 3 conversions at Glamis last season, all together. not many around, I was not even aware they were still available.

On another note, I have a single paddle tire would be perfect for one of these, it is from a pair of pilot tires where one was too damaged, it is in very good condition I believe it is 24x11x10

It pretty much is a 2022 model now! :-)

Yes, each wheel is a dual beadlock, so both sides.

I am using a 24x11-10 tire on the rear now. Send me some photos of the spare tire you have & what you would like to get for it.

I don't think the missile kits will accept a tire that big. All the photos I have seen, it looks to be very small in the rear. 20" maybe 22"?

Thanks guys! :-) I am very happy with this build and it was one of my favorite projects.

I found the 2020 TTR230 donor bike on Facebook marketplace about 40 minutes from me & was able to purchase it for $3800. It was pretty much brand new with very little use. I sold the roller with with title for $1500. The TTR230 has been in production for many years now and parts are and will be readily available for years to come. Both the TTR230 and the TTR225 are direct swaps for the Big Wheel 200. Originally I was going to use a TTR225 Engine I have, but it was in need of a rebuild. I was quoted $2600 for a rebuild from a local shop for this work. I am glad I went with the newer TTR230. Great power and gearing for this bike, it rips in all terrain, although I mostly use it for trail riding.
