Well as you can see all did not go to plan. 10mins in to my week away
the heim joint decided to part ways from the frame in-turn taking out the shock
but the axle was good. Had a little walk that day 2kms back to the car was able to drive
the car in to carry out repairs

Had spares but the heim joint was not stock had to do a 1.5 hour round trip to get another
one. Did a track side repair and was good for the rest of the week.

A little video for you

Yow that's nasty  Is that a very common failure point on the 350? I've read plenty about making shock savers in case a u-joint goes but never heard about that breaking.

Hoser, I wish it was that simple but the canister is bent inwards to the shock so
need a rebuild and new parts

Will be sending both shocks interstate for a full service and repairs.

Shock Repaired and both serviced and freight AU$800 as little bit of coin.

Fitted and with 2 new tie rod ends on the trailing arms should be
good for another 10years

looking at the damaged one it look like is been cracked for a while so there's
some to check regularly.
