Here's the pics.

I got the three with all of the plastic, he kept the "naked" one

He offered to sell the 100 gallon tank and transfer pump, but I didn't feel the need and didn't even ask what he wanted for it. I guess the trailer was pretty old and he had already scrapped it.

We ran each one of them yesterday for about an hour and have a few items to work out.

1. They all had to have the gas drained, it was so old in one of them that it didn't even have the slightest smell of gas, he told me it wouldn't run without the choke on....

2. All of them need new overflow resevoirs, broken mounts and/or cracks.

3. Two of them need new choke cables.

4. All of the tanks, pumps and caps are there, but the tanks will need to be cleaned out (rusty) and I'll probably have them zinc plated instead of kreemed.

5. Some of the plastic can be wet sanded and buffed out (I've had good luck with this on old quads and three-wheelers), but I'm going to let the wife and kids get accustomed to them before we start replacing any of it.....

6. One of them either has a cooling issue or a switch issue (temp light comes on after 20-30 minutes), I haven't seen the fan come on yet on that one, so I'm assuming it's the switch.

7. One of them has a blown front shock.

Other than those issues everything works as it should, lights, switches, levers, etc.

Wish me luck......

File comment: He must've swapped out the headlight before I picked em up because they're all perfect

We'll be getting rid of at least 3 of the current 5 250's we have now, can't see them getting used much with these around.........

We paid $15,000.00 and even with the faded plastic that seem to be a good deal to me for California....

I've gone to check out better looking Pilots with inferior mechanicals lately that were being sold for $7500.00 to $8000.00 each.

It took the wife about ten seconds to OK the deal too, she wanted em as much as the kids and I.....

Now I've got to start liquidating some 250's......

That was for three of them.

Haven't had much time to spend on them, but I have found the cooling issue, the wire was pulled loose from the terminal.....

Received the choke cables Friday and the resevoirs are on the way. I've also helped Dunepilot reduce his stock of Pilot parts a bit.

One of them has a slightly bent lower front a-arm and I've now got a replacement on the way from ATVR.

Picked up a 350 Monday for $2600.00.

He wanted $3600.00 so I offered $2600.00 expecting to have to meet him halfway, but he went for the $2600.00. The clutching seemed way off and the driven was making noises so I figured that was why he jumped on it.

He had it for about two years and used it twice, he said it wasn't fast enough for the dunes.... Looks like he spent about 600-800 on new STU paddles and ridge runner fronts with red label rims. I put on the stock rims and tires that he had to go with it.

The problem turned out to be the narrow FL250 belt he was using, the best part was that he gave me the new Honda belt the previous owner gave him and when I changed it out it worked perfectly, besides needing the airbox mod.....

Thanks!

I'm going to be doing the airbox mod this weekend along with changing out the pilot overflow resevoirs and choke cables, providing the temps don't drive us to the water......

I've got a water cooled head on the way from Hillside Honda and a goldwing radiator just waiting to be installed soon.
