A couple pics of a little project I'm doing.

I got a cheapo air compressor and was going to just throw it in and install a power outlet for.

Instead I stripped it and installing it in a project case. Still needs an air inlet breather, and DC power and switch.

One of the guys on the PA ride mentioned using Fire extinguisher canisters as a resi..

I put 12' of hose on it to reach my tires and/or a buddies tires.

Looks good Bob - that'll really come in handy on our PA rides... Now you need to buid something to hold the 100 plus tire plugs we use each ride! HA!

Those little motors run hot and need to breath a little. Putting that in a sealed box will prolly seal the casket shut on that motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). That fan will just circulate the hot air in the box!

Maybe you could just remove the top when you need to use it to air something up.

Yes definitely needs air flow.
I won't seal it up completely. I just haven't made the wholes yet.

Ideally a breathable filter would be nice to have. But, was thinking along the lines of a couple angled tubes. If not two medium wholes in the bottom.

Mass,
I left mine in the case...and just used a brass fitting to put 5 ft of hose on it. I zip tied it to my head net so it stays in place and i can reach any of tires or a friends tires without moving the unit itself. That way i could leave the case on it and it stays fairly dry b/c my big fat head soaks up all the water and mud.

Power - I ripped off the the cig plug and installed aligator clips so I could just clip it on the battery and away it goes.

This was a nice simple design and hasn't failed me yet!!

Have ya'll never heard of "slime" up north??? In South Texas we have Mesquite brush with thorns as big as nails around some places and this stuff works wonders!!!
Just don't put to much into the fronts as wobbleing from an out of balance thing will occur...

Actually we have.
I saw a 50/50 split on its usefulness. So fo rnow I think I'll hold off.
Next time I'm at my tire guy I'll ask him if he'll still do my tires if they have slime in them. Some will some won't.

Actually its hard to find tire places to do ATV tires with out charging ATV shop rates up here.

OH I'd hate to roll over in those thorns.

You should try rolling over in a cholla bush or driving through an ocotillo on a two-wheeler! That was over 20 years ago and it still hurts.......

Send your wife to the local bike shop, always works for me. she usually gets them mounted for 5 bux a rim and once she had the daughter along and they did it for free! I knew there was a reason I have a house full of girls.......

Oh the joys of being surrounded by beautiful women!!! Milk it for all it is worth!!!

On the slime if you use about half of a bottle in each tire it will have enough to cover the inside up good with out having to much to throw out of balance. and it does get messy after awhile but it will grind off for patch application!!! Won't need to patch with this stuff though!!!
I put some in my son's dirt bike tubes also, and no flats since!!!
It's Good Stuff...
