I do like those seat covers, but I think i'm going to go with the summit seat. (BTW they make seat covers for summit seat also)

I will try to update with pics of the seat/bracket when i install.

Keep in mind a heat shield in the back.

I happen to have one of these seats. There ok. You sit more straight up which gives you more leg room. But I also have it back as far as it can go and have melted the back of the seat lol. But when you have a bad back a heated seat is welcomed hahaha. The one thing I don’t like about the seat is how much higher it sits. I’ve made some brackets and stuff to try and lower it as much as possible. The lower you try to mount it the tighter things get with seat belt mounts and brake lever and gear shifter.

Strange - the seat looks about the same shape as OEM, but from what you posted it is not. How long did it take you to smell the melting plastic when it first got hot? That is a hell of a melt. Looks like you did a great job lowering it.

That's exactly how I wanted to do it, thank you for the pics

honestly I never really noticed the melting, until the last time I was out with it after I tried to lower it to where it currently sits. I have a power pros pipe and I wish it had more of a down turn at the exhaust manifold, that would help a lot, a heat shield would probably be a good idea as well, I don't have any good pics of it mounted and its not in the Oddy right now.

Here's what I'm thinking.if I can get commitment for 6 pilot and / or 6 fl350 covers. I will take off $25 -$30 off the eBay price. I'll need $75 up front and you'll have to be patient with my upholstery guy . He has a minimum requirement of 10 , but he won't do 5 pilot and 5 Ody covers. If there's interest out there maybe we see how many are interested and for what bike.

Different subject, did the fl250's have split rims?

Did we ever get anywhere with this? Still would like to have a few covers... Terry, still interested?

I put a RZR seat in mine. Found new take out seat at my local Polaris dealer for $75 each. I fabbed brackets, skid plate and heat shield.

Oooh that looks real nice, i like that webbing and skidplate. Its nice.

My seat is like new, on top. But the bottom center has been smashed in, busted plastic, (previous owner smashed it on rock?) so if were riding anywhere wet that seat will get soaked... might try and seal it with spray foam or something. If that don't work i really like that rzr seat, looks like you mounted the seat mounted lower than factory, onto the skid plate? Does that end up making you sit lower or bout even compared to stock.
Im 6’1 so i like headroom :)

The rear of the factory seat hangs down about the same amount as the RZR seat. The RZR seat shape requires that the front be on that same plane where the front of the factory seat is higher. The front being lower is why I fabbed the skid plate in the shape it is to help the buggy up and over obstacles. Still to be seen if that's an issue or not. I wanted the seat to be lower more for knee room than head room. I'm 6" tall and there is plenty of head room.
