Hello hoser sent me a crank with a pice of 3/4" heater hose on one end to protect the threads on the crankshaft durring shipping, you know in case someone dropped the box.

well I seen that siting next to a spark plug and the light went off :-)

Keeps the dirt out of the recess Afastcar was talking about?

How you cut that rubber so precisely?

sheet metal shears then belt sand to fit

I used to do that with old air cooled dirt bikes. The rubber hose won't last very long and will stink once it gets hot. Change it over to a piece of silicone hose and you will be all set. The silicone can take the heat without a problem.

If you make the hose in two pieces, you can extend it up the plug to meet the spark plug cap. This will help shed water away from the plug to prevent stalling due to loss of spark for you guys that like to play in deep water with your quads. :-)

Liquid cooled head should be a few hundred degrees cooler at that point?
