Hey guys, I just stumbled across another 350 and the guy is asking 900.00 for it which is half what I paid for my 350 2 months ago and I thought I got a good deal. He said the starter doesn't work, it needs front tires really bad. He claims it runs good and it looks a little ruff in the pics but not horrible. He said he has no title and only owned it about 6 months. Unfortunately it is about 450 miles away from me so I can't just zip right over for a quick look.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this? At say 1100 bucks including travel expenses could I get hurt on the deal? I would think any running 350 would have to be worth 1500.00, wouldn't it??

I am debating on going top pick it up tomorrow, but don't want to spend unnecessary money if it isn't a good deal and I cant re coop the investment if need be.

Help!! LOL..

if the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) is blown its STILL worth it.

is it the one in toledo or grand rapids? toledo ohio is 800 bucks and looks nice.. grand rapids machine listing is gone!

If you don't have a spare I would move on it. The parts alone will save you lots of dough over the years if you are planning on keeping your 350 for a long time. I would take cash, focus on any issues it has and offer him 650 when you get there. With the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) out I would look for condition of the crank, and bore size it is on. look for Engine mounts, condition of the shifter cables, rear caliper, master cylinder axles, look at the cylinder studs to see if any have been heli-coiled.

Thanks guys, It drove me crazy knowing what I paid for my other 350 so I filled up my truck with diesel and made a really fast & furious trip to Arizona. I got home this morning just before 4:00 AM. The seller was really nice and I was shocked at the condition of the Odyssey, it was much nicer than I expected. I was able to get it for 850.00 so I have just over a grand into it with fuel cost. When I got there the seller gave it one great big pull & it fired right up and sounded really good. :-)

I am pretty excited about this, & will post some pics later today once I can get it unloaded.

Here is the craigs list add..

I also noticed he ran this add, a week earlier on the same Odyssey..

Thanks here are a few pics, you can tell it has had a very hard life and will need some serious TLC but all & all I am happy with it. I may just take all the parts that may be in better shape and put them on mine and then just keep this one to ride if mine ever goes down. The motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) is VERY rich and will need some jetting but still shows 125 lbs of compression. I know the trans will need some attention because the shifter feels like it is not connected to anything. You have to fiddle with it to go into gear. The front tie rods are shot and the left rear tire looks like it sits crocked so either something is bent or out of adjustment. The front tires are so bald you can almost see the air. LOL...

Any idea what these shocks are? Are they an upgrade from stock?

Looks really good for the price .. front left wheel looks toed in, but that's about it. lots of good big ticket items there and compression is good too. I would swap the seat or put a seat cover on it, get new belts for it and it will look a world better. I got my 3 inch RJS belts for ~60 bucks new. made a big difference to the look of my machines.

I can't believe that with the obvious hard, neglected life this Ody has gone thru(look at the seat),that all the white/red paint is STILL intact in the F-N-R gear knob recesses! THAT'S one tough Knob! :-)

Thanks, I took it out this evening for a short ride and it runs pretty good, but doesn't feel any where near as fast as my other 350. The ball joints and tie rods ends are so worn out, on top of the bald tires, it is almost impossible to keep it in the path. :-) I think a with a little TLC it will make a fun little buggy. I already robbed those front fenders off of it and swapped them onto my other 350, they were way to nice for this old beater. LOL... I still need to jet it and I will pull the top end off to look it over before I ride it too much, but I want to get my other 350 back together before I tear this one apart.

Did anyone recognize those rear shocks? I wonder if they are better than the stockers on my other 350? If so I will swap them over also.
Thanks again
