Stoneman was in the area last week so brought me his CR500 Pilot Engine he had built up years ago, assembled from spare parts? Will let him tell the story give the details of its origin.

I looked everything over it looks like they modified the cases then rebuilt the crank using the CR500 rod kit (Hot Rods) then assembled the bottom end, appears to be be Honda gaskets, assume they replaced all the crank bearings and seals while it was apart?

Bottom end looks good and feels good.

It came with 3 heads that have been modified for the Pilot they remove the two radiator hose outlets on the top of the head and weld in one.

One dome says HP dome 48cc I need to cc the other two domes see what they are I am sure Stoneman wont want to run race gas all the time in his trail machine.

Cylinder appears to be a standard CR500 cylinder that has been ported, to what level I don't know work looks quality.

Studs need removed so the top of the cylinder can be lapped to ensure its flat.

that's pretty cool,, I see the mod to the starter. Is there anything done to the outside of the cylinder?

you have to add a fitting to the trasfer ports on the cylinder to run the fuel pump. Other then that the majority of the mods is done to the lower cases
