Look at this Gentleman here fellas, been through some very rough stuff and some very tough losses and still there for his friends. Top notch my Friend!!!

Good to here from you Gregg, I hope all is getting put back together. I am very sorry for your losses.

I have found a new right crank case and the parts to rebuild the crank, I am going to take the top end off to take a look see but I will not know the total damage until Hoser gets in there.

Blew it up trying to catch me right?? Oh wait you were in front... ahh... well... never mind.. :-)

All joking aside, this truly sucks & hope it runs better than ever when it goes back together. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

How was it running before it blew? I've got extra top end Honda gaskets if your interested, but looks like you will need a complete set. No extra lower gaskets. Looking forward to hosers csi. You'll be up and running before long. Who's going to rebuild your crank?

The piston broke?

How many hours on the piston?

How many RPMs were you running?

What a mess.

Cant really tell in the pics but I bet that hole in the crank cases can be welded up and repaired I have seen this type damage before.

Hello Rich, she was running awesome all day. If the crank needs rebuilt which I think it will I plan to see if Speedchaser will do it or who ever Hoser recommends.

Thank you Sir, that stinks I think the skirts are OK on mine thank goodness. Good luck on yours as well.

Howdy Sir, yep the piston broke good. I am not to sure how many hours were on the piston, I do know that the previous owner had replaced it about 2 years before I bought it. My RPM gauge was not working, I do have a no rev. limiter CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition).

Mess, yup that's the word. My wife keeps asking me why I am smiling when talking about this, she does not realize that the smile is covering up the tears. LOL!!!

Do you think Speedchaser is who I should contact about repairing the case if it's repairable and rebuilding the crank.

Here are some more pics.

WTF never seen a piston that bad on a single cylinder 2 stroke before I have seen them that bad on a multi cylinder where the other cylinder kept dragging the bad piston until it locked up.

Also seen a 400EX piston that bad after it quit running the owner towed it about 5 miles trying to start it until it locked up.

After its running again I would like to see what RPM its running.

After I get it apart and see the damage will let you know on welding the cases I bought a new welder and can weld aluminum now just don't know if the gasket surface will need machined or not, pretty sure their is no welding that piston :-)

Hoser a few of us were kinda hoping to hear your csi Engine analysis.

I mean was there something in particular that killed it? seal leak? lack of oil?

Usually when a piston skirt does that its because of too many hours then gets work harden then brittle then cracks then breaks up just thought it would have lost compression or spark and quit running before getting that bad.
