Right away I got out the paint pen and started marking the parts so their is no confusion later on.

Black gaskets usually factory gaskets, hard as a rock hard to remove.

I carefully cleaned all the old gaskets off then lapped the gasket surfaces on the surface plate to ensure the gasket surfaces are flat, did a preliminary cleaning of the cases and hoserized the oil passages and the flow paths from the bottom end into the transfers.

No power tools were used just razor blade as a scraper takes longer but no damage was done to the cases.

Have not cleaned or taken a close look at the crank yet shifted focus on Engine number two, its just about all apart just have to split the cases.

These numbers were stamped in ink on the back of the new water pump seal, same seal as used on other Hondas or other brands of bikes?

Water pump seal numbers NSO * 9 H 2026

Just curious again Hoser, but I thought you guys couldn't get those seals anymore ??
Where did you get it from ??
I know I don't own a pilot but I do keep tabs on pilot issues as I may buy one some day.

Did a bit of searching and found the following info on this seal but can't vouch for the accuracy of it.
Below is info about a replacement mechanical seal for the pilot.
19217-MAL-300 Yes sir, 19217-MAL-300, this seal has a few rides under its belt and no leaks. This info was taken from the thread Re: Impeller shaft play where Im not supposed to have play??

In search box type in Impeller shaft play

Hello Sir, these parts were collected quite a while back, I am a bit of a perfectionist. Well maybe a little more then a bit.
