Just changed rear brake pads on my Pilot and 2 little ball bearings fell out. Any idea where they came from?

I'll take a look. There are 2 of them and super clean. No grease or oil on them?

You would know if they came from the CV joint. The ball bearings in the CV are rather large.

When you say they fell out - fell out of where? What were you specifically doing when they fell out?

Need to see a picture of them.

Im trying to remember. Aren't there ball bearings or balls inside of the E-Brake lever on the caliper?

I was pulling the disc brake assembly out through the rear of the frame to change the pads. These 2 little ball bearings just fell on the ground when I pulled the brake caliper out. I'll get pictures later

I did pull the brake lever off. Maybe that's where they came from?

Yeah I don't either so don't know what to say. Don't think out of acle those are larger also I think you would feel the vibration.

Wow You got me. I know they are not used in the rear caliper. Could they have fallen out of the rear arm bearings and landed on the caliper, getting trapped and then fell out when you removed? Problem with that is I believe the rear a arms are spherical bearings (I believe), that do not have balls.

Could they be from the detent on the F&R shaft of the gearbox? #10 below. Problem with that is there is only one and how the heck would it get out?

I have no clue where they came from. Never done any work on these besides basic things like changing brake pads. I'll take it out for a ride a little later and see if I can feel anything or if it's not shifting properly. Ran fine when parked last. I was installing new wheels with paddle tires when I noticed that I needed to replace the brake pads is how I came across the issue.

Based on that picture it looks like those bearings are about the size of the hole in the brake pad locator pin hole. So that's about 1/4" or 6mm. The bearings on the transmission output shaft are to big for it to be that. Also the transmission input shaft also seems to have a bearing that is to big for it to be that. But just to be sure I would grab your input (clutch) and check for movement. The only thing I can think of is the wheel bearing on the front wheels ?? I don't own a pilot but the bearings in the front brake drum on the FL350 are that size. Don't know how TWO bearings from the front of the machine would miraculously appear at the back of the machine. This is a strange one but NOTHING just appears for fun. They came from somewhere.

I think you would have noticed if it came from the transmission on the last ride.
You would also see oil all over the place. Check your transmission oil level. That would tell you right away and check for metal shavings in the oil. That would be a dead give away also.
