Post subject:  Mudbogger's ATV Racing Ported? Cylinder CSI

Mudbogger sent me a cylinder and head that was "ported" by ATV Racing?? I can only assume it was done by ATV Racing because I have never seen one that was lettered up on the cylinder and head like this one is in the past they just scratched a single line letters on this one they spent more time doing a outline theme.

Anybody know for sure?

Anyways Mudbogger wanted a CSI and to bore it to fit the piston he sent.

The head, I will cc the head see what they done usually they are 46cc's or less when you see aluminum smeared on the cylinder wall lmao whats really funny is they charge like 100 bux to machine the head turning your Pilot into a piston eater poofkaboom machine.

The exhaust port tunnel has a really stupid shape to it looks like they made the port opening changes (wider/higher) just at the opening then never finished the port tunnel, rookie mistake who ever did the work on this cylinder must have skipped a few chapters or books.

They made two of the intake ports really wide at the top no real advantage for this again they missed a few chapters on filling and evacuating a combustion chamber sad to say their is no way for me to fill this in and undo the butchery its something you have to live with.

Another rookie mistake putting a knife edge on the entrance to the transfer port tunnels, its a old school mistake.

No book required for this one do your own test, go to the kitchen get out a butter knife, take it to the sink turn on the water run it over the edge of the knife watch the water flow over the blade noe change the angle of the blade about 1/2 degree watch the huge changes to the flows over the edge, anybody that studied Leonardo Da Vinci probably seen his stuff where he spend months at a small stream studying "flow" over different objects.

As you probably noticed by now the port openings has little to no bevel or radius around them same with the bottom of the cylinder they are like built in oil scrapers.

If this is a ATV Racing cylinder not sure how they justify charging 475.00 for this work....

More on this cylinder and head later in the week I will remove the studs so I can see if the top of the cylinder is flat then bore/hone to fit the new piston, make all the changes I can make to correct the problems I listed, I will also cc the head to see where its at.

Mudbogger are you going to run a Speedchaser on this Engine when you get it back?

Yes sir I had planned on it. Do you have one for fitment if needed? Thanks for looking at it, I am hopeful that 81mm Wiseco will work ok. I bought the Pilot with that Engine/jug on it and actually ran it for several season prior to the poofkaboom. I never touched it other then jetting the carb because I fugred with ATV on it it was going to blow up anyhows. It really ran quite well to be honest.

Your cylinder is done will ship it tomorrow morning.

You seem happy with this setup and its performance so I will not touch anything I will just bore/hone to the proper clearance, prep the piston ship back to you, not even going to cc the head since your going to run a Speedchaser head :-)

PM me the address you want this "ATV" cylinder (ATV Racing??) shipped too.

Thanks.
