i just bought a 350 odyssey tonight and the guy showed me a cylinder that he had bought years ago. Please help me ID it and give me any feedback. i think i overpaid for it but it just looked to cool to pass on. "good enough" and "DG" are stamped into it. i was told it is designed to run a yz piston with a spacer plate. The bore is big and looks like it will need re-sleeved. Any help would be awesome. -Doug

There was a guy named Doug Goodenough back in the day who was involved with stadium lites. I don't know much about him but some of these other guys may. I have a 400 cylinder with kx500 intake attached to it similiar to yours that's "supposed" to be his handiwork. At least you have his name on the cylinder. So I was partially right, called a friend who used to own some of those...Goodenough used to race stadium lites, the Engine as CO said was done by (BV).They would stamp the car owners name in the Engine so they knew who's was who's. |

It would be awesome if Doug Goodenough could give some feedback on this... I bet he would be able to tell a heck of a story about it. I found his name come up a few places on the site, but I don't think he is a member. I want to decide if it is worth trying to fix it up and then what I would need to get that process started. Or possibly if someone else on here should have it that knows a lot more about this than me. The things I see wrong so far are a small weld on the cylinder right at the bottom of the sleeve near the transfer ports. Im gonna take a better pic of that to post. Im not sure if this cylinder was re-sleeved once already and the crack was welded before the new sleeve was installed, or if they left the sleeve in place and just welded it up. The head is also pretty banged up. Is that ok? On the exterior the cylinder needs cleaned up... some fins are bent and chipped up. I don't know if those imperfections are from someone dropping it or if there is some type of objective to it. Things to determine if I decide to build: - is this practical for a fl350 or just for a stadium lite setup - piston and spacer plate details - what type of carb for this intake setup - what reed cage is this so I could get new carbon reed petals - is a standard wiring harness acceptable/CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) box - what exhaust should be used - what do I need for gaskets and new o rings how would I determine that |

Doug did run superlite races. I remember the name but not him. That motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) does not look familiar. Given his name on it, it may be a home brew. He did not run the series that long if I recall. Sorry for not much more information. |

Read the name on the car before it gets all blurry. That's Stacy Faye, Doug's girlfriend or wife? I read a few years ago, Doug still has his car. Not sure about now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... X-_dPTJjMw His utoob https://www.youtube.com/user/goodnuffracer |
