Yes your right! Use it as you wish! Might make a good paper wieght! Before I do that I'd buy a pilot Engine and get it done up right!
I'm going to pull the Engine mount and send to shouldacoulda! See how it works/fits hopefully won't have to send whole buggy to him!

I would think he could make a simple jig to bolt your current Engine mount too then build off the jig once he knows where everything bolts up.

Is the Engine mount welded to the frame or bolted in?
