Anyone ever have this issue before?

Image

Was out riding in the snow, did a 180* and the buggy stalled out.

Got it started and couldn't get it into gear. F or R

Noticed the 94c was spinning all out of whack. Shut it off and saw that ^^^^^^^^^

Once is a fluke, but it did it twice!!!!

Puck bound up/wedged on the outside cover and it (sheave) didn't retract. Had to tap on the pucks to get them back inside the cover.

On a side note, the oddy really stunk in the snow. Launches too hard and the tires just spin. The same reason the pucks go full extension and got lodged. Front wheels "floating" makes for no fun, can't do a donut or anything. It just pushes in a straight line no matter where you turn the wheels.

Now the Yerf on the other hand......

Had a ball!!!! donuts, 180's, tail slides, figure 8's, side ways drifting, fun!!!!!

Thinking of removing the outer cover and lightly sanding the outer edges. Hopefully this eliminates any "edge" that can dig into the puck.

Anyone see a problem with this?

I was almost going to buy one of those for my 350, is that a common failure? I have a 102c but I cant find a mounting bolt and washer for it. Does the 94 c a problem clutch or good?

My brother runs the 94c on his machine with no issues but we don't ride in any snow.
Our rides are up in the mountains during summer only.
I can't believe you can't get a bolt for the 102. Did you try Fastenal ???

Everything I read was the 94c is a great stock clutch replacement. Need the 102 for fine tune adjustability.

I was riding in maybe 6" of snow, but it was on asphalt. So the launch is around 3800 RPM, and the tires just break free.

First time it happened, I was attempting a donut. Second time was in a straight away and ran over a snow covered ice patch, so the tires instantly spun. Sheave opens up, and never returns without some help.

Now this is a brand new clutch. Maybe it needs the parts to start to wear together?

Obviously this isn't an issue on dry land, but winter is long and I wanna play..... Although the lack of steering may also put a huge damper on my snow riding fun with this one.

3800 rpm isn't really that high for clutch engagement.. my 102 engages at 5000

Yes, but cold tires in heavy snow on asphalt = poor traction

No problems with the 94c's I owned. Actually pretty trouble free.

Got around to popping the cover off and found 2 of the 6 pucks rotated. It appears the ones that got stuck between the sheave and dust cover didn't return to their proper "seating" when I tapped them back into place in the field.

One of the 2 has a decent "groove" in it from the dust cover clamping down on it. Was pretty surprised to see there was no "ridge" on the cover edge.

What is supposed to limit the amount of travel for the sheave? Meaning, how did my sheave close up enough to allow the puck/s to get caught between the sheave and cover?

While searching for pics for proper puck orientation on line (making sure I installed them correctly)I found a guy on another forum that seemed to have the same problem. He mentioned filing down the mount that the dust cover attaches to. Thus closing the distance between the sheave and the cover to prevent this from happening again.
