Mike sent me his PB for a CSI...
I found plenty of dirt inside.

One thing Mike noticed was the clutch had rubbed on the back side, sometimes the PB will hit one of the bolts on the back side of the clutch just a little this is due to casting and bolt head variations in production. After seeing his crank bearings I would say it was rubbing because of the extra play in the crank? http://pilotodyssey.com/PO/viewtopic.php?t=2600

Either way I put the clutch in the lathe and removed about .040 for more clearance, I will also file down the heads of the bolts just a little.

After cleaning the clutch up and inspecting I assembled, using the 'hoser clutch holding tool' (pink arrow) you can see this leaves the end of the shaft exposed so you can properly "key" the cover on the end of the shaft. (blue arrow)

Cap on lined up properly, now the clutch can be put on the crank with the 'hoser holding tool' in place then all you have to do is torque the center bolt, you need to ensure the hoser holding tool is position so it does not get clamped between the back of the clutch and the Engine.

Mike did a tune up with a dremel I don't see where it hurt anything.

I used a paint marker to "key" the clutch for future reference when assembling, green arrows point to the 'hoser holding tool' its a ONE handed tool unlike the POS "Billet" 30.00 holding tool other mutts sell that require 3 hands to use, you can fabricate your own it takes about 5 min to make, cost about 2 bux... http://pilotodyssey.com/PO/viewtopic.php?t=2238

Not sure,, I don't remember the assembly sequence - procedure on the 102 all it does is hold the clutch together with the spring compressed until you bolt it on the Engine. |
